I am looking to get new bilstein 5100's front and back. I want to run the front at 1.5-2 inches of lift. Can i do this or is it smart to do this with the stock prerunner coils? im goin to have the rear set at 0.

A lot of people use the stock coils. I did and everything is just fine at 2.5".
FYI with those shocks, they don't adjust in the back so you don't have to worry about any settings there.

yes you can do that with stock coils......
and the rears 5100's are not adjustable....
you will need an aal for lift ....or a new leaf pack

5100s are a great way to improve ride and gain up to 2.5" of lift (front). im riding 5100s with stock coils and couldn't be happier.

note- you said you're looking for 1.5-2" : the 5100s for 1st gens can be set in 3 settings; 0" lift, 1" lift, and 2.5" lift. all measurements are approximate and will depend on your stock coils.

a rear add-a-leaf will give you about 2" lift for the rear

i set my fronts at 2.5" and put it in toyec 2" add a leaf. front came up 2.5" and rear about the same. tires are toyo open country m/t's LT285/75R16, little rub, but nothing a very small amount of trimming can't fix. pinch weld and plastic valence trimmed and couldn't be happier!

truck went up another 2" after the tires, had 265/70's on before.

I'm running 5100's on stock coils and it rides very nicely. I also have rear 5100's with a 1.5in wheeler's AAL. I'm currently running 265/70/16 tires but I'm looking to upgrade to 265/75/16 BFG All-Terrains. 285/75/16 tires will fit with minor trimming though.

i jsu tgot my 5100s and was looking at them and was wondering if that little lock washer type thing that seems to be in the 2.5 setting slot. is that the only thing that the bottom spring perch sits on. seems like its a thin piece on metal to hold all that weight
