TRD Pro Leaf Springs

Also some fun info, the offroad uses the same upper rear strut bushings as the pro. My pro suspension was missing 1 of the rear bushings, the offroad ones were the same so I just used my offroad ones.

 

You are correct, it's a marketing term that Toyota used for advertisement.

 

With a empty to 500 additional lbs what do ya'll suggest for springs with "18 DCOR installing Pro shocks?

I would spend the money on some sweet bilsteins all around rather than the pro suspension or just treat yo self and get Kings.

 

Does anyone have the part # for the TRD Pro springs? I read on another post that they are 650Lb compared to the 600lb springs on the TRD OR.

I was thinking that they might be a good solution for the Bilstein 6112s i just purchased. I have a C4 low pro and winch up front.

 

I thought my OR springs were 700.

 

I guess I need to research more.

 

Has anyone put an Icon Mini Pack AAL onto a TRD OR with the TRD Pro Fox suspension?

Are there any issues with doing so or things I should be aware of? The Icon AAL says it will add ~1.5" (I don't have a tent or much weight in the back), I don't want to be overextending the shocks or risking damage.

Have you noticed any ride improvements by going to the progressive pack?

They'll install just fine. The 1.5" of lift is the result of the 1.5" thickness of leafs that you'll install. I followed the install instructions and removed the overload leaf.

Word of warning, you'll need to remove the factory leaf keeper, where the parking brake cable attaches. I just left my cable free floating with no issues.

I eventually swapped to Deaver U402 stage I. The factory leaf pack with the 3-leaf AAL ended up sagging pretty badly in a short period of time.

The progressive AAL was very nice riding at first and is a nice stop gap until you go for a pack replacement. Just remember, you get what you pay for. At approximately $150, it's a nicer solution than a $50 block, but it's not as nice compared to a $1000 pack replacement.

 

Ok, thanks for the info. Did you end up running the Deaver pack with the TRD shocks? I am partially wondering if it would be better to hold off for a few months and pickup a J66 or RXT pack if the AAL will end up wearing out quick.

 

No, I had already replaced the Pro shocks with ADS, when I swapped to the Deavers.

My advice? DO NOT go with the J66's. They are a light duty leaf pack designed to be super flexible and NO additional bed weight. Designed for fast desert driving. Any weight in the bed will cause them to bottom out.

The RXT is a very good option, based on my readings. I almost went that route, before ordering my Deavers.

The AAL is a good option, but just know that it's not likely to be a long term solution. Depends on how you use them...

 

How long did your AAL setup last? The truck sees most use on the street with a camping trip about once a month in the winter and day trips when possible.

If I go for a full pack, I am leaning to the RXT, for what I do it looks like the better setup. My truck tows a lot and when I go off roading all of my camping gear is in the bed so I don't want to loose any payload capacity.

 

Probably about 1.5 years.

So I compared my 22 pro to my 22 sr5 leafs …they are indeed different. Question: could the difference between the two be the reason I don’t hear the harmonic whine/whistle in the pro that I do/did with 22 and 17 sr5.
