strangely enough when I initially flashed the newest version I got the dreaded "failed" screen with the rest of the oh shit information. I pressed try again and this time it took! Not sure what caused it - maybe battery/voltage spike or drop. Started up so all is good. Odd and down right scary. Think I will download the new VFT version released this week and take a break from flashing tunes for a while - just going to MooseDitty's most recent regular octane performance tune (10-10-2020).

EDIT: NOTE TO OTHERS - CHECK TO BE SURE YOU ARE CONNECTED TO YOUR 2.0 USB CONNECTION ON THE COMPUTER AND NOT THE 3.0 USB CONNECTION. I WAS CONNECTED TO THE 3.0 AND AFTER SWITCHING TO THE 2.0 I HAD NO ISSUES.

just remember to leave the "gear size reverse" as-is - do not change this one.

To save me some searching does anyone have the most up to date AGM values? On my first attempt this morning I realized my vftuner version was extremely outdated (like 1.0.0.9 or something), now I'm updated but the values post I saved from like May has settings I'm not seeing, I just have 1 2 3 4 5 9 for Phase Duty under Alternator Constant?

edit; this is what ive got, trying to modify mooseditty's latest file before i flash it

Question. Have you had a chance to log data on your tunes(techstream)?
I looked at your recent tunes and others and compared to mine, but I have yet to see throttle position and accelerator position to match on all rpms and load.
I have a bit aggressive numbers in my all Airload and throttle per gear tables, but the trottle position sensor values are half way down compare to accelerator.
    Thanks.

Slight improvement in shifts and throttle. I like it better. Not a HUGE difference. Try it, you can always go back. Or maybe you prefer something about both of them and they could be blended... Gear Lock and the Premium option are two biggest differences.

Do any of the unmodified tunes match up throttle position and accelerator position on all rpms and load?
All my Tuning has been butt Dyno and a notebook.
Maybe try one of my tunes and see how it logs? See if your butt Dyno prefers it to Techstream logic.

Butt dyno is feeling good and the truck is flying, but the numbers are way apart and I was not able to find remedies to match.

I see folks shared vt logs, but those parameters on logs are not techstream's, I doubt those are Toyota's PIDs.

I'm not sure yet, I haven't been able to test it since I went back to work today. @Diesel475 said he would try to test it today.

I have never tuned a vehicle a day in my life prior to this. I've never seen dyno in person, let alone had my vehicle on one. I just knew what I wanted, asked a ton of questions on how to achieve it, made some adjustments, drove with them, and shared what I thought felt good.

Also try adjusting your downshifts. The truck has to decide which gear to pick based on speed, throttle position, engine load, etc all instantaneously. If you don't offer a clear choice, it's gonna fumble. Mat made this suggestion to me once. Helped for sure. Assuming your stumbling / faceplanting issues arrive when you're cruising along then give it the skinny pedal.

    Wrong octane?
Didn't use diesel did ya? :D

@Mooseditty17, have you previously posted your general tuning process? I.E. "change values in table x according to this method, which produces this result"? I'm not sure which tables I need to touch and how. Searching the previous 20+ pages mentions a bunch of different tables, with some common ones (mostly referred to by a term that isn't the exact name of the table [e.g. Airload] so I don't know which of the several similarly named tables is the target), plus there's distinctions between MT and AT.

Question for the masses: we essentially have four different tunes we can make, correct? D, S, ECT, and S and ECT? I saw GL can be done using S + ECT.

I used the shift points you posted a while back for this tune. Post #5550 I thinks what it was. Both upshift and downshift. I made a minor changed to 3-4 upshift so it would hold 3rd a little longer.

That all depends on what are you looking to achieve I listed at one time what tables I had adjustments to... Pretty certain anyways.

And you can make an unlimited number of times. As far as switching "maps" within a tune... You're be pretty much limited to 3. Regular Drive "mode" an S mode and an ETC mode. Chances are somehow ETC and S will get tied together such as with Gear Lock.

And those worked well for you, but not for @Diesel475? WTF?

    @Diesel475
Copy the normal downshifts into a copy of the current tune you are running, and see if the truck still stumbles. I'm guessing it won't. Somewhere along the lines the values are too close for the truck to make the proper determination of which gear to pick.
