I was just saying you might be violating your lease contract.

I just have to return the car to stock if I return it, or buy/sell the car. I will probably be going with the latter

I have a 3/2 spacer lift and run 285/70/17 on replica 4 runner wheels. If it gives you an idea.

Looks good! Thinking it might be too big for my daily use though. Is running 275/70/17 abnormal for this truck? I don’t see a lot of people doing it

There are people running 275/70/17 on non lifted sports and offroads. I think it depends on the wheel. The 4 runner wheels would probably work. Honestly a 265 is a good tire size and a lot cheaper.

Sounds like you have never leased a high residual vehicle before?

Very nice! I have a 2016 TRD Sport that Im giving to my son. Been looking hard at the Limited. How do you like the ride? There are none in my area to compare with my sport.

The Limited has the same suspension as the SR & SR5. Test drive one of those.

Not true about leased trucks for me... I leased three Tacomas and while they were pretty close to perfect, I did mod them a little. I also drove them to Mexico (insured with a Mexican auto policy, naturally), and there was never any issue at trade-in the two times. In fact, I wanted to keep my Ride Rite air bags that I added to the 2005, for possible use on the 2010. They had the shop remove them, and my custom front light bar, which I put on the 2010. A lease is no different than a purchase to the salesmen, it is just a different way to finance a truck. It is your truck when leased, as much as it is when you are making payments on it to the lender, who holds the pink slip.

The beauty of a lease is that if used for business, the lease payments are deductible. You get into a new truck with only a small down payment and smaller monthly payments. After 3-5 years, you trade it in for a new truck for little to no down payment. There is no mileage use penalty if you trade it for another Toyota. That was my first question when the lease says 12,000/ year! I put 3 to 4 times that on it!

My 2001 leased truck had 136,000 miles on it when I traded it for my 2005. I provided $1,000 down at trade-in to keep my payments close to the 2001 level (even though I traded a first gen 2-door for the second gen 4-door). In late 2009, my '05 had 102,000 miles on it and I traded for the 2010, with no money down and a small increase in the monthly lease (~$20). My Toyota dealer (Toyota Carlsbad, Duff Joy) made it all so easy and no stress each time. My wife has bought three Corollas from him or his associate over the years, too.

I wanted to keep the 2010 as my final truck, so I bought it from the lease after three years... Yes, I paid a bit more that way, but I am glad I did as it continues to be an awesome truck, almost 11 years later!

If money isn't an issue and it won't ever be used for self-employment, then buy it from the start.
If money is tight but you gotta get a 4x4 Tacoma TRD Off Road (like me), then a lease is how it can happen.
