We'll damn. I understand some of the comments about the personal things going on since I had talked to Wil back in July. But definitely a bummer I've been going there and have known them since 2008.

I don’t know him well but he was talking about his problems back in Oct of last year when I had some work done. I wish him the best, along with any customers who are owed product.

Just a follow up on this, the part came today and worked perfectly. Thanks for the help. I didn't even realize it was color-matched!

I'm considering making the jump from my taco to a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4. The JGC I found is optioned out how I'd like it including factory tow which would be perfect for my utility trailer, so I don't think I'd miss having a truck too much. I don't do any heavy wheeling so I think a factory 4x4 should do just fine.

Anything else I should consider? The resale on the taco is kinda nuts, but I wouldn't mind a change in vehicle, and I really like the looks of the JGC and resale seems decent.

I’d strongly consider a 2015 Tacoma. Optioned out in a TRD Off Road package with 4x4 you will get a bigger, more powerful and efficient motor than you have now, as well as an actual truck bed for quick dirty hauling needs; no trailer needed for the small stuff. 6500lb towing capability too. An additional $500 for an HP Tuner setup and the truck will be more powerful than imagined, shift awesome and have Toyota reliability. Guaranteed good to go for 300k miles

I guess it depends on how long you plan to own it, how you plan to get it (lease/buy) etc. New Grand Cherokee's are certainly a lot comfier than Tacoma's are, but they are a weird fusion of German, Italian and American engineering. Not for the better.

Yes, i've test driven a couple and my sister owns a 2014 that's had a very solid track record which is one of the reasons for even considering

I definitely will have some stuff to get rid of separately, as of the moment I think I'm going to try and sell it with the Kings and wheels and tires at least.

The engine power on the 3rd gen isn't a concern to me at all (i've driven 2nd gens quite a bit as well). The tranny was annoying at first, but ever since the 2nd TSB it was a huge improvement. I also have OVTune on mine which makes it much more fun to drive even on stock gearing and 33s.

I've had my 3rd gen for 4+ years now, I usually keep vehicles for anywhere between 2-5years. the JGC that I'm looking at is very low mileage which is a big reason i'm considering.

Really wish Toyota would have redesigned the T4R in 20/21, but last I heard it is pushed back until at least 22. I did consider that as well, but the interior seems a bit outdated considering what else is out there.

I've always been a huge fan of Toyota, but it is sometimes a bit frustrating at how behind the times they can be with tech or redesigns. Although on the flip side, that's definitely what helps reliability and resale. Very thorough stress testing on everything.

    decisions, decisions... :annoyed:

I'd at least wait until 2021. If civil war breaks out, you'll want that Toyota reliability.

Not really sure who else To ask this so maybe someone here knows

I have this box (pic) on my garage wall. Getting ready to repaint. I think it’s from the old security system from the 80s I ripped out. Has anyone seen this or know what it is? Don’t want to rip it out if it actually does something

I'd be careful to remove it. If you want to remove it because it's not needed for you that's one thing. Place a blank cover over it after you paint. There may be a point in the future you decide you want it. My fancy video doorbell uses the transformer and doesn't require charging or changing batteries. Either way, you have wires there, 110vac and 16vdc, that must by NEC and NFPA remain accessible.

Correct. Don’t just mud over them. That circuit is tied another. So if you do remove cut and cap properly.
