Sundre location is to gas up and stuff, pre drive meet will be at Bearberry Store around 10 ish...no idea where it is but how big can Bearberry be. I'm hoping that I got the timing for driving right but if all goes well it should work out.
    Thanks for your interest.

Hey @DAS Taco thanks for coordinating a new trail. Sundre should be good. I'm like 50/50 since my rig is full stock. Really don't want to see trail damage before I get a set of skid plates on it. Hoping skid plates will arrive this week. As well as need to repair passenger side rear tire, as I found a screw on my way home from BC yesterday. Did the spare tire dance in Red Deer. Should have that repaired this week, too. Will know for certain by Thursday whether I'm a definite yeah or nah. We will see. Enjoy those turkeys fellas :mudding:

Thanks bro, I do have oem skids and I don't plan on scaring them. I was told that the Limestone Mountain has couple of trails, one supposed to be stock suspension friendly. Our Taco is bone stock...try to make it and thank you.
    Happy Thanksgiving!

Looks like some of the fire bans are lifted!
And the Ghost fire is doing better. Not sure if the Ghost is still closed...

I will try and camp somewhere on Saturday.

From what I was told it is still closed with steep fines if rules are broken, check out the article below.

A FOREST AREA CLOSURE is in effect (Ministerial Order 045) within the Calgary Forest Area for public safety during active wildfire operations. Wildland firefighting crews, vehicles and aircraft from Alberta Agriculture and Forestry are conducting suppression operations on the Devil’s Head wildfire.

The closure area is from the east boundary of the Banff National Park to Highway 40, and extends north from the South Ghost river to Township 29. See map insert for details, or visit albertafirebans.ca.

A forest area closure is used to limit access to designated areas of crown land, and is enacted by Ministerial Order under Section 21 of the Forest and Prairie Protection Act. Access is limited to individuals authorized by permit to enter the area. Permits are issued by the local Alberta Agriculture and Forestry office, and can be requested by calling 403-297-8822. The closure will remain in effect until wildfire operations and the current wildfire hazard dictate that it is safe re-open the area.

No roads are closed; Highway 40 remains open, however access to the TransAlta and Waiparous roads is prohibited as it falls within the Forest Area Closure boundary.

An individual entering a forest area closure without a permit can be fined $600 - $1,200.

How recent is this? I don't see the black area in the Ghost location with it saying it's closed anymore.
It could very well be but it is not showing on https://www.albertafirebans.ca/

I wonder if I should find camp near by as well.
Anyone know how long the trail ride goes for?

Does the north west boundary affect us? Are we pooched?
I wonder if the bans will lift with the recent snow.

    @DAS Taco

Saw that Limestone radio tower may be closed to 4x4's and would need to hike (a while) to get there. Also, seems like a lot of snow forecast too

Just confirming what the plan still is. Thanks.

The fire bans and forest area closure are lifted. You just can't be like the dummy that started the fire... lol
Soak it, stir it and soak it again.

We will still go ahead with it, I guess once on location will decide. A member of Overland Alberta is very experienced trail driver. Yes, snow will add to the adventure...Limestone Mountain here we come!
