    Well, its that time again.

    Time for Mason to send his old tires to the clouds in the sky and order a new set.



    I’m settled on the Falken AT3w in LT265/70r17E but thats the thing...i feel like i’m settling.


    I really wanted Cooper st maxx in LT255/80r17E but i didnt like how they wore with all my highway miles when i had them in 265s. The truck is more of a toy and a travel vehicle now that I have a reliable daily driver...but I still have a hard time changing the truck or making changes that in my mind jeopardize the reliability of how good its been for the last 50k miles :anonymous:

    The other thing that makes me feel like i’m settling is, Falkens are now made in Thailand where as the ones i have on my 4runner were made in the USA. I have always had better luck with American made tires for some reason. I know the Falken MTs i have on my truck now are made in Thailand and I may not have bought them if I knew that. One of them is surely coming apart internally or something because it shakes so bad i had to put it on the rear...it was shaking my steering wheel so bad it’d make my hands go numb after while. Plus, they dont hold a balance for shit and they’re mud tires, so they’re getting louder and LOUDER.

    Another thing to consider is, i’m wanting to start accumulating lift parts again when the pre-christmas sales hit this year. So the 255s would fit better next year when I lift again....

    Basically the TLDR is, i’m thinking that i’ll stay conservative since i’m trying to save money for a house anyway.

    I planned on the ST Maxxs as well in 255/85 but have also been looking at Mastercraft Courser CXT. I’ll say I’ve not seen many reviews but the ones I have are mainly good. They are also 213 a tire on Amazon. Mastercraft is made by Cooper in the US, Ohio I think. They are a little taller than the ST Maxxs as well. Might be worth a googlein’.
