Selling my truck and paying off two smaller debts will greatly reduce our credit/debt.

 

She is decent, knows the area real well. If you are going to look in this area she may be worth a shot.

a paid off vehicle plus two other debts paid off. Win win. No brainer. The extra $1200/mo will be nice to pocket instead of pissing it into the wind.

 

Or snowball that into your other remaining debts and pay them off quicker.

 

$1200 a month snowballing to your next highest interest rate will make a massive dent to your debt.

 

I went with the Ramsey method and went to the next smallest that way it gets gone quick then adds to the snowball plus that feeling of getting them knocked out quickly adds to that good feeling. Not just by highest interest rate (even though that's typically how it works out)

 

@Archangel going in order of highest interest rate is called the avalanche method. It’s mathematically faster but in practice the snowball method of smallest to largest end up being faster because we are stupid humans.

We have been doing the avalanche the last year. It’s been working well. $135k last Sept down to $90k this month... that was with me being jobless Jan-Aug this year too. Once I sell my truck that will be another $25k knocked off

Thanks guys. It’s been two years since we’ve been debt free and I can tell you it is 100% worth the sacrifice to get here.

 

Its also truly surprising, especially if you truly do the beans and rice mentality, how little you need to live off of and the extra money you have. That was probably the biggest eye opener to me.

I drive a lot on the highway and I can tell you there is a strong correlation between shitty drivers and these cars:

Chevy Cruz
Kia Soul
Jeep Compass

I reckon it’s because those are all cheap AF cars that people, who shouldn’t be driving, can afford.
