41k on my 18 OR. I don’t know how I lived without one for so long. Like it more and more each day. No issues and cheap to maintain.

3 years and 31k here and no issues with my 2018. Routing maintenance. Scheduled to get the fuel pump recall done in a few weeks. Otherwise it is a solid truck. I put the shift module thing on early, so it shifts more like a normal truck. Stock it wants to put you in too high a gear too early. Completely reversible. Overall a good truck.

Now I just need to decide if I keep it when I get the new Bronco coming out. Wife has actually suggested trading in her Subie instead of the Tacoma. :)

Mine is new, 2 months old with just over 7k miles on it.
I can say that this truck has been to the dealer more than my other 4 new Tacoma pickups combined and all for electronics.

I bought my 3rd gen with 46k and it now has just over 50k (luckily it also has a CPO warranty). My trans was acting funky, turns out it was low on fluid for probably it's whole life, my fuel door started binding and they're replacing that for me under warranty this week. I think the fuel pump TSB is the 2nd TSB that has impacted my truck. Overall it has been solid, but I'm very OCD about maintenance.

I bought mine in January of 2016 and have 105k+ on mine, I'm on my 3rd set of tires, have changed the front brakes at 90k miles and do routine oil and filter changes. Truck gets driven off road occasionally for hunting and that sort. No major problems and only some minor TSBs that got taken care of.

2016 OR, 65K, no issues, just regular maintenance.
Because of the shifting points and gear hunting I did two TSB (0077-16 & 0062-18). They did corrected the "behavior" of the shifting

Obsessing?? --- In the 8 months between my driving past a dealer and thinking "wow, that's a cool looking truck" and my buying:
    1) discovered the black hole of this forum and spent uncounted hours
    2) spent more hours reading every word on the Toyota website (several times)
    3) drove my (good and long suffering) wife crazy by "just happening" to discover every Toyota dealer within a 100 mile radius -- poor girl...
    Welcome to the forum

I’ve had a 2010 and a 2020 Taco. Felt my 2010 is the best truck I’ve owned. Had my 2020 long enough to feel like it’s a solid buy and might soon win that title. Get one and make it your own!

Does the trans fluid run through a section of the radiator?

Nearly 4 years and 52,000 miles on 2017 OR. Great truck and no issues so far. A few rattles that I could fix. Otherwise, I’d do it all over again. Transmission doesn’t bother me. Go with the 3rd gen.

    Working on it ...
My current truck is my fourth one. My first three were all manual transmissions. This is my first automatic because I want the long bed and a double cab. Manual was not available. Also was fine with the automatic as none of my kids believe it or not can drive a stick at least now they can use the truck if they need it.

I have said this before - since I bought this truck end of December 2019 and 16,000 miles later, the only time I ever think about it not being a manual transmission is when I am not driving it.

55k on 2018 4x4 sr5 4door auto, 265/75r16 E mud tires, 2.5" Icons all around CBI full bumpers all around.

Many camping and road trips. Many off road miles with a mix of trails in 4Low and desert trails at "speed". Truck is also used to haul crap for wife's business and home improvement projects. Also moved a 5K lb tuna boat once.

    18 mpg combined. I don't think a gen2 or a tundra would get that.

zero issues (only did 5 oil changes so far).

When I had mine, I was doing 45,000 miles a year so I had plenty of seat time to notice everything and anything

a significant amount of that time was spent on the interstate which is definitely the weak point of the AT.

I’m sure the newer trucks are better but the early AT tunes were super terrible (even after filling the trans fluid and a TSB)

I traded before gears or tuning was available. If I still had it, I’m sure I’d have 4.88s in it after seeing how much different the MT drives due to the gearing.
