i love trimming season it kinda puts me in a zen trance, but yea anything fun becomes chore as well, but that scissor hash :yay:

ever consider a trimming machine or one of those tumblers?

i know they not cheap, but perhaps you know others that would use the machine for a small fee to offset the cost

Running into that problem with canning this year, too. Same as seeds this spring; everybody and their brother apparently decided to try canning this year, so I've had a hard time finding jars to replace the ones that were given away (with their contents, of course) as gifts over the last year.

Still have some tomatoes and peppers growing that I put the greenhouse over this weekend.

Brought in 3 big plants and chopped em down this weekend, she's starting to strip the leaves and get the good stuff in jars

Dumb question, but if they aren't going to give you money back-why I you trying to return them?

Are there any scrap yards near you that will give you a couple pennies per pound for them?

Because then they have nothing they can deny or put back on me. It was junk, i was documented, and it was returned to their hands.

Hopefully my case will help folks think twice before spending any money with them.

I'm personally not a fan of all the flashy TRD lettering and stuff.

I did hit my grey OEM skid with black bedliner stuff and like that much better than the grey.

Wait what? Hash? Am I at a Foghat concert? Haven't heard much of hashish since I came back from working in Spain.

Hahahahaha, exactly how I feel about pumpkin beer or cranberry beer or blueberry or apple or any other flavor other than malt.

Wally World in Scarborough just restocked, as of like 10 am there were a decent amount of smaller jars. I may have 6 or so extra 1/2 gallon jars in a few days, as I bought more than I should need just like every one and TP in the spring.

Yes, called it like it is for the most part.

Yes I have, Ive tried some of the cheaper gimmicky ones but not a high end one yet. Everything I’ve seen says they are sorta worth it but you still need to hand trim to get the best results. There are a couple electric hand trimmers that seem to be a decent middle ground tho.

I want to know what everyone is gonna do with all this stuff when Covid ends. It’s easier to get rid of some jars than a puppy :frusty:

you could run for political office

better than throwing it out!! And a nice topper at the end of the night. I actually brought some back from a h.s. class trip from Spain. When security at the German border wanted to ask me about my bag I almost shit my pants. This was post 9/11 and they were not messing around with security.

I found a couple of boxes Anchor-branded jars at Reny's back in August, so I was able to stretch my pints enough to get everything in this year. But I had to use absolutely all of them, even the old wire-bail jars that I haven't used in a few years. Still have plenty of quarts for juice or soup stock, and the smaller sampler jars for jalapeno jelly and pickled garlic, and that'll finish off my canning for the year.

Doubtful, my morality is still mostly intact.

I'm sure that in a year or two you'll see all kinds of self-reliance stuff popping up on Craigslist and FB marketplace, canning/food drying stuff, gardening tools, oil lamps, etc.
    Same as after Y2k, really.

Oof. Hopefully everyone and their mother knows how to seal jars properly. Otherwise there’s going to be a large uptick in botulism cases mid winter into spring.

Shrug. If you can follow a recipe you can safely can food. Shouldn't be that bad, unless people are trying to follow a pressure canning recipe using a water bath canner
