So I installed a first gen supercharger (gray) on my Tacoma . After everything was done with I got 7 check engine codes . It’s reading that cylinders 1-6 and misfiring and multiple misfire codes. I replaced the plugs with denso ik20s and gapped them to .43 could the problem have been when I tapped them? Just would hate to spend another 70$ on plugs .
Also my transmission shifts like a second too late now I have to get off the gas to make a shift engage . Any feedback would be super helpful thanks !

    Check for vacuum leaks.

When's the last time you did a service or flush on your transmission?

You’d have to majorly screw all the plugs to get all of them to misfire. Check your vacuum routing. Worst came to worst throw your old plugs in - it’ll idle without enough boost you won’t misfire I’d imagine.

I would check vacuum routing next as mentioned.

Take it one step at a time. Deal with the misfire first. Then your tranny issue.

Also, check your spark plug wiring. Make sure they are not crossed into cylinders where they should not be.

Will check vacuum routing and if issue persists then throw the old plugs back in. Do you guys think the issue can be the transmission lockdown cable ?

I just know it was multiple misfires and then it said every cylinder misfired

Trans is probably the kick down cable out of adjustment.

That’s what I was thinking , so if I gapped denso ik20s like a normal spark plug do you think that could have ruined the electrodes ?

It's possible the electrodes were damaged, Pretty easy to find out. Throw the old plugs back in it.

You need to make sure you didn't cross the spark plug wires to the cylinders. Because that would cause a domino effect misfire into the cylinders which are proper if you have the 3 coil, 3 wires type setup.

Also you don't gap Iridiums unless you have the proper tool for it. A standard gapper tool will destroy the iridium coating and turn the spark plugs into the regular style. From there they would get ruined fairly quickly. I would even venture to say that they would get ruined faster than a standard plug.

Hey guys a little update . Replaced all spark plugs codes haven’t popped back yet although I haven’t done much driving today . Tightened the tranny cable and it’s still shifting late if I give it some gas , any ideas? Can it be because I had to take the cable off the bracket to get it on the supercharger , if not it didn’t have enough room to get over it

Trans cable still looks loose, its the one right behind the throttle cable. Looks like it goes down in a loop instead of straight across the top.

I have it in the top bracket only all the others are out, if not I don’t have room to go across the top of the charger . Any suggestions on what you guys did ?
