Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Let it bake. I for one would be nervous to run a tune adjusted by someone without experience.

 

I would be happy with your last 2.0 tune with map switching and the stumble start if you just fixed the stumble start. That would be a great starting point to tweak minor things with VF Tuner if desired.

 

Correct, that is not the dongle. So you could get vftuner for $79

It's good to have a code scanner if you need or if you wanna have some gauge readings. But otherwise. I feel you bud. You and I have been on the OFT HH for almost a year. I want vftuner too

 

I would love to have ECT back in operation! Seems I am missing part of my truck at this point with this function being obsolete!

 

So download the latest tune file. Works 100% on the 2.0 from the website.

 

Hmmm! Can you elaborate on that file? I was under the assumption that I was on the most recent tune. Been watching and waiting patiently for final which would incorporate the ECT button back into play. Am on 2.0 4.88 91 thx 35's!

Don't see anything else on flash manager under 2.0 that will download!

 

I am thinking that I am on the latest version, and ECT just isn't working on my truck for some reason.. Edit:. Guess not, it says ECT doesn't function on the tune that I am on.

do yourself a favor and get the VFtune software - more options and potential - $79.00 and easy to use and modify for gears and tire size. You will like it.

 

Thank you! I also just found back on Sept. 8th. My son said he would do tomorrow for me. Would of been nice if would have been updated in Flash manager! Will be nice to have ECT back. The first 2.0 beta definitely was better than the one I am on. Hope this one is more similar to that.

 

I am fairly computer illiterate! Afraid I will make a mess of it. I will see if my son will help me with it if I order it. Just hoping for a little pedal when I hit 6th without downshifting right away. Best I had that was on the last 2.0 beta.

 

Dose the $79 include the tune pack for flash kit guys or just VF?

 

if you are an original dongle (usb memory stick) it is free to you - contact OVTune or search for instructions on how to return. If you are original dongle-less owner (just the obd connector with cable) it is $79.00 - posted somewhere here in the VFTuner thread. After downloading software, receiving Master Key transmit computer ID and ECU information to zenhelp desk. Then request tunes in VFT format for your ecu. Then mod away, or seek posted tunes on the VFTuner thread for your ecu.

 

honestly it is simple. Look for post on this thread with link for the $79.00 fee (dongle-less, obd connector with cable). Purchase. you will receive Master Key, Download software - send Computer ID and Truck ECU ID information to zen help desk - finish software registration and seek VFT format tunes for your ecu from help desk. Mod away or look for posted vft tunes on the VFTuner thread with the same ecu id (04B04,...) for use. Actually simpler than PF5 was/is.

??? not sure but I think @Mooseditty17 is in your State - maybe close and can assist.

 

I have read through much of what I can find on the tuning and the response difference. My main questions are
1. Will my adaptive cruise control still work.
2. Is there a way to switch between "modes" with a manual.
3. Is it worth buying both tune and software and then modify from there or start from base example tunes. I have some experience in tuning (megasquirt, and emanage).

 

My PF5 says those are the tunes I already have. Pretty sure ECT doesn't work with those.
