Truth be told I’ve had the paint since last year, the only reason I’m doing it now is so it looks good in the pictures I take at Moab next week haha.

It's like looking into my future. My truck needs this.

Any particular brand of paint you got?

I went to a professional auto body supply shop and had them mix me the cheapest base they sold. I believe it’s Omni branded.

I re-did our 2000 Mercedes E320 Trunk with the same paint, It ended up pretty decent.

Good enough. There's one here locally I've been meaning to call.

I also actually thought you accidentally posted a pic of the garage door for a moment...

Spent more time cleaning, zip tied my headlight fillers, cleaned some more, removed old decals, changed the air filter and wipers, fixed my rear window hinges and then found more to clean. The PO was a freaking slob. Put on my steering wheel and seat covers (Chris Kyle Tactical from Wally World) and finished up with putting on my TacomaWorld decal! Then ordered a new grill and front bumper chrome filler.

Next step will be paracord wrapping my grab handles, and then debadging the truck. I have the 2nd gen badges from my old 06 from a long time ago. I’ll black them out and install with 3m tape.

The four "normal" front bolts came out hard. The midwest salt destroys everything. The bolt threads basically rusted away but they did back out. The far rear two bolts with the wing on top to stop it from spinning....1 busted right off and 1 backed out. I have a different bed I'm putting on and the threads will get chased (cleaned) and anti-seize with Fords high temp stuff. It's really thick and I'm hoping the salt doesn't wash it away.

All 4 filler neck bolts just busted off at the head. But I didn't care since I have a different bed. I do have to drill out one mud flap bolt in the new bed. Overall, if I was using the old bed...i'd have to drill a few bolts out, which I hate doing.

Tips (from my experience)...i'd be more patient with the 4 bolts. Probably even shoot some pb blaster up in the area (kind of a blind shot) and not use a huge breaker bar. I'd probably get an electric impact driver and put it on low and just vibrate the bolts back and forth till they worked their way out....more PB. The two odd looking bolts with the wings on them (closet to bumper)...just buy new ones. Those I really wouldn't worry about breaking....it would actually help :) Getting the bed off was a piece of cake with 3 guys.

I made some simple front LED turn signals for my front bumper yesterday. The LED's are made for lighting outdoor signs and they appear to be sealed decently well. Cut a steel backer plate, and a front plate with cutouts for the LEDs. I paint matched the plates and used some shoe goo to seal everything together. I also cut a front acrylic lens to help seal everything and make it look more finished.

I bought 4 other LED clearance marker/turn signal lights prior to this. The first one was to dim in my opinion. The second one looked great, but was cheaply made and one of them broke from a short drop. The cutout was made for this light... I bought 2 other lights, but they didnt fit right, and were to dim as well.

I am very happy with the brightness and look of these. I like the stealth look I ended up with, and the brightness feels perfect. They are not blinding/distracting, but bright enough to be noticed.
