Is there a difference between coil spacer lifts, and strut tower spacer lifts? Im really trying to decide what lift setup im going to go for, but theres way too many out there... I want something that doesnt make my truck handle like a cheap whore, and that gives me good on/off road performance. Around 2.5-3 inchs, preferabley no blocks, and a kit that has everything i need (dif drop, centering bolts, etc). Might go with new coilovers, but im kind of on a tight budget. I have an 01 double cab by the way. What do you guys think?

The in coil spacers are junk and they give a harsh ride from what Ive seen, the top of coil spacer like a billet spacer is alright, just depends how high your going, on a 4x4 i wouldnt recommend anything above 2.5 in the front, 3 inches is pushing it with the cv angle even with the diff drop, at 3 inches on mine with a billet spacer my suspension at full travel the upper balljoint actually touched the coil spring splitting the boot

Keep in mind that alot of people that have the Top Plate spacers have had their ball joints beat to near failure when used off road. They affectively lengthen your shock/spring and can over extend your ball joints.

I've spent the last little while reading that TTORA thread start to finish. Any and all valuable info in that thread took a back seat to the 2nd to last post(post#108). What a waste of time.

You can, but the ride wont be very good. Run OME coils with OME springs for the best ride.

Looking at his post history, I think he may have had some issues with Neubs, but who knows.

Yeah, he did have a problem with me, but oh well. I am here to help people out (the best that I can anyway) and be part of the community and NOT flame other members. I don't claim to know everything and I have actually learned a lot from older members such as you Chris. I am not sure if you realize it but you inspired me to push for the TSB AAL. Without this forum, and your wise recommendation, that product may have never been developed. I have been to many forums and I can proudly say that TW has the most genuine, kind, fun members of any forum.

To the OP, here is some very good basic information that I hope you will find helpful: (sorry to reference another forum but I have not found such a comprehensive unbiased post anywhere else)

I am a fan of the adjustable coilovers. For the Win. :)

if i get some ome coilovers with the 882 spring, do i need to do anything to decrease my cv/ball joint angles. It says the 882s will lift about 2.5-3 ".

I think you will be fine. FWIW, the OME's are not coilovers per se, they are a shock spring combo. :)

should i go with the firm shock or the comfort shock with the 882 springs? will the firm shock and the 882s be to firm together?

Most of the people I know have gone with the comfort shocks.
