Fitting 35’s with minimal trimming NOW ADDING LONG TRAVEL AND 934 CV’s

Is there different slugs to adjust the height? I like this concept more than the screw style.

 

I have stopped reading all of the posts and just follow 81Trekker's posts and then read the questions he is responding too. There are a lot of offerings out there for the 2nd and 3rd Gens. However none of them have addressed the problems with the foundation of the front suspension other than JDFabrication. If you want to stay IFS this is the best offering currently available. (yes it is just my opinion) If you have your own opinion on how things should be done fine. If you don't agree fine. If you want to move on fine. I appreciate 81Trekker taking so much time to keep us all informed and connected but the man has work to get done and I want to see it. Love the work keep it up!

One thing I like about the threaded kind is limiting droop if I need to change a wheel or do a brake job etc. It wouldn’t be hard to replicate with these by adding another tab higher up to bolt the strap to.

You’re not going to be in a good place to lift the lowers - in my case at least and getting it from the center can be the only way.

@81Trekker im about to hit the checkout button on the LCA pivots but wanted to say thank you for this insane wealth of info. I literally read every page and instead of it inflating (or deflating) my ego, it just humbled me on what my truck is capable of as a 3rd gen, despite what I wanted it to be. I’ve pretty much given up the thought that it’ll ever be a truck that’ll comfortably run the Rubicon without doing some serious damage to it or thousands upon thousands of dollars dumped into it both building it and maintenance (and still not keeping up with the live axles and short wheel bases) but I’m cool with that and it saves me a lot of money, time, and wasted effort - I don’t do this shit for the gram, I do it for me.

33s on stock height with your kit just makes sense for a super reliable mild offroad rig. Like you said, it MUST be built with purpose in mind and started with a vehicle that’s naturally capable of high performance for said purpose - I liked when you mentioned not needing an alignment on your 81 for years despite being on 37s because it was built specifically for that application as a solid axle. I’d hate to have to fuck with my Taco after any difficult trail a stock rubicon 2 door + 35s could handle with ease.

just confirms as a guy who wants to get into the rocks more than anything that I need to SAS an older 1st gen, or find myself a 2 door wrangler with a short wheel base I could build for cheaper and still make a DD - if I truly want to be happy with what I dump money into. Unless I win the lottery tomorrow - then I might go D60s front and rear on my AC + 40s and have a blast lol.

but for now, a bulletproof 2.7 5spd with 33s as a DD will do!
