I just purchased a 2012 4.0 Tacoma ext cab. I’m looking for some suggestions for floor matt replacements. I’m liking the rubber based kind over the carpet ones, I live in winter climate.

While I got you here, does the spare tire underneath the bed also have a sensor in it?

Thank you for all your suggestions and help.

    I have WeatherTech floor liners.
10+ years on the same set. They’ve been in 2 different trucks.
Snow from your boots can melt and fill them up.
All you have to do is take them out and dump the water out.

As for the spare. Mine does have one in the spare. 2007
Later model trucks didn’t usually have them.
It’s possible yours has one, but I wouldn’t think so since it’s a later model truck.

I have Husky on my truck and Weathertech on my wife's suv. Can't go wrong with either one.

As for spare tire sensors, I think they stopped putting them after 09 models.

I have Weathertechs in my 2008 and love them. They are 10+ years old and still perform like new. I've never owned Husky's so I can't comment on that other than to say I've heard nothing but good things about them as well.

I have some husky liners in my truck that are like this flexible tpu plastic material and exact floor contour.

The cool thing is that they have like 1.5 inch lip around the backside, which is nice because they catch excess stuff like mud, water, and puke. Ask me how I know...I've had em for 6 years, no problems.

Also my 08 does in fact have a spare tire sensor. Don't know if it's a blessing for a curse. Took me awhile to figure out why my tpms light was on. Finally realized it was the spare. I had no idea they stopped putting them in.

I have the OEM weather liners and I wore o hole through them in 16 months. I ordered Husky to replace the OEM. I have not received them yet so no review.

Those are Husky WeatherBeaters. Have the exact same ones in black on my truck.

They don’t make WeatherBeaters for MT. I got the Liners. They are more plastic than rubber but I like them.

Husky's are nice, even better when coupled with vinyl flooring. One of the best investment I've spent to finally rid of stinky odor from old carpet.

I have weather tech and they are lifesavers in winter, no worrying about sand / salt / snow. The first thing I noticed about them when installed was the plastic feeling, big change from carpet. It is a harder stiffer plastic. Took about a week then never noticed again. Husky does have one version that’s a softer feel (xact) and I would try them if my damn weathertech’s ever wore out. It looks like their weatherbeater version is stiffer like the weather tech , but that’s just going by reading description. My mats are physically the same since I installed 6 years and all those winter’s ago, a little more dirty and a missing emblem. Everyone says they love what they bought between the weather tech and husky, so you can’t go wrong. I have never wished I bought something else.
