That 93 looks like a great candidate for a good truck, not a whole lot to fix there. The 95 is uh, beat, probably still a good trail rig, but when you're paying LC prices for all the parts to make it a good rig you want something to be proud of on the outside too.

Don't think he has pet insurance from what he made it sound like yesterday

We don't have it either but didn't really feel necessary for house cats, then again it cost my wife $3k in vet bills for her cat last year over just 2 days and he had to be put down regardless in the end.

Kind of got me thinking about it...if we had dogs then probably would for sure since they're outside way more

Hard to justify it sometimes if you've had pets before that never needed it.

I got it cause my dog was attacked a few years ago (my boxer mix) and it involved both her and my husky cause someone else's mutt decided to pick a fight with my dogs. Since then I'll always have it.

Yeah it can be hard to justify at times

I don't mind buying one that has a few issues. I use that to get the price down. But I do need a good body, decent interior, and transmission.

Engine issues I can fix if the price is right.

Suspension I plan to replace anyway. Would be rare to find one the way I want it.

Hoses, gaskets, and seals, goes along with buying something old enough to vote.

Some interior parts I don't mind changing out.

Everything I've bought needed a new windshield except one.

 

Interior bits, specifically seats and dashes for 80s are big money and windshields.... well you find me a windshield guy that can do it the right way the first time and I'll pay him $500 cash under the table. 80 series windshields are actually a nightmare, if it isn't 100% right in that rubber seal with the right cement on the proper side and smoothed to perfection, you get wet pillars and feet and possibly lap... no one ever does it right

 

Also I get having to have a good body, cause I'm a crap grade body guy and real body guys are too spendy. Small dent are the only things that don't scare me because I have a PDR friend haha

 

Hundys have rivets that hold in the windshield channel. Most installation ships use screws that start rust. Somebody screwed mine in at some point. Its not noisy and doesn't leak. But I need to change the windshield and want to get one installed with rivets.

Bigger cities maybe? More people in need of it so they can charge more I guess.

 

I'm fairly sure the metro area I'm in is bigger than where you are though.
