Went up today. Pretty fun drive. Had to clear the road in a few spots. Saw a deer too. Depending on weather, would love to go again with a group before the snow falls.

It's a fun area. This summer's camping trips have all been up around there.

They did a great job on the write up. I had the GPX track downloaded into Gaia and it came in handy at a few spots. There are lots of side roads and alternate routes in the area.
Not going to lie; the narrow shelf road keeps you on edge(no pun intended) in a few spots. The rut at one section allowed my driver rear tire to slip a little towards the 300ft drop off.
yesterday was also a good reminder of how conditions change. Multiple rigs were up there over the weekend and then wind took trees down over night or during the morning. I Had to clear a number of trees to get through.

If I had one, it would have been nice. I needed to pull out my axe.

Granted the pics don’t look bad. But the realization did hit that I could have easily had to back track almost an hour and a half to get back out. That or chop a large tree enough to break it it out of the way.
