    Hi all,

I'm new to the forum, I bought a 2011 double cab V6 SR5 long bed this past winter knowing the frame had some patina.I brought it in for a frame recall inspection and was told it just needed a new frame coating.

It passed an inspection in August after that and the tech told me I should get a second opinion from a different dealership. Sure enough the second dealership told me the frame had a perforation and they needed to send photos to Toyota to see if I can get a new frame. I'm waiting on word from Toyota.

My question to all of you is: What tips do you have for the frame replacement process? I know the dealership will probably try to sell me some parts as they go through the process of entirely disassembling my truck. What parts are worth replacing during all of this? and what might it cost?

Off the top of my head I was thinking trans lines. I was also considering aftermarket headers and cat back exhaust since the engine will be completely out of the truck.

They've told me that the work will be considerably cheaper since they already have to take the truck apart for the recall.

    This is the rig:

Just got the word, getting a new frame, some time in the next few months. Still looking for suggestions on what might be good to replace while the body is off the frame and the engine is out if anyone out there has previous experience with this.

depending on how the lines look, trans lines, PS lines, rack if need be, any damp motor seals ETC. The whole truck will be in pieces, so any suspension work or motor work is wayyyyy cheaper. My 06's mainfolds are fine, but if you want performance ones now is the time to do it. A cat back would be an easy swap for basically free since the old exhaust will be off already. Extended break lines in the rear if you ever want a large lift kit, way easier with the bed off.

Haha, I think I'll go with a slightly more tasteful 3" lift and 33's. I still need to be able to get my canoe on top of it.
