A bit expensive but if you’ve lost control, it’s no biggy

 

That's a neat minifig, but yeah still a bit too steep.

The still-nameless Ship 02 doesn't really seem like a military vessel to me, or a pirate. Probably something more like a merchant or general private vessel - still not quite sure there either, I just think it looks cool. Regardless, the crew I came up with for out is a bit on the scrappier-looking side, not proper/military enough for Captain Jones, there.

Don't know if it was intentional or not, but I like the Ukrainian flags on top of the masts.

 

Not intentional, but nice catch! You're the first to say Ukraine, others have said Sweden. I was just trying to add an extra bit of color.

 

I vote Ukraine! Better food and beer.

 

Looks like that flag didn't show up until the mid 1800s. That's a bit late for this vessel. The Swedes, however, have been using those colors since the mid 1600s.

If anything, it's probably Welsh.

I read the original Ian Fleming book to my boy about a month ago, then we watched the movie. Twice. Then we started attempting a Lego version using the pirate ship rowboat backwards as the car's body. So freaking hard, so many complex shapes. Hard to do it any justice at a smaller scale.

 

When I see how good these submissions are that don’t get picked, I realize I would never have something that could make it to becoming a set!

 

I would've jumped all over the Iron Giant set. That's my childhood.

 

Yeah, it's huge, and so detailed. Probably cost about $800

 

Oh dear.

 

So awesome. Given the significant number of gun ports, I might suggest privateer.
