Torque at idle

    Was wondering if anyone has any specs on torque numbers of what both the 3.5 and 2.7 2tr-fe produce at idle?

    any literature would be appreciated!

    Plenty of dynos on the internet. Just run a google search for the respective engines

    The answer:
    (HP*5252)/rpm=t
    Based on that formula, the 3.5 wins. However, this is at crank. At wheel, you need final drive ratio and tire diameter. In this case final drive ratio is first gear ratio. Have fun!

    appreciate the equation - the missing link. I have Trans gear + tcase + taco box + final drive numbers already and was just trying to calculate a few things.

    thank you sir. Moreso just crunching numbers and deciding if it’s worth it to drop a single Taco box + FJ case in it considering it’s a 2.7. I’d still lack the v6 torque for such a heavy truck.

    Plan was to SAS it eventually, but may be smarter to hold off and get a v6 when the COVID bs dies down and supply is higher

    Taco box is something cool to brag about but for the most part it’s not useful. The truck needs a lot of work before bothering with that.

    it’s one of those things I’d definitely need with a SAS that can be done now, but I just don’t think the 2.7 has enough grunt to make it worth it with a heavy 3rd gen. I’d need triple transfer cases for what a v6 could do with a doubler.

    Jeep is looking better and better for a trail rig while keeping the taco a DD long term. Cost effectiveness matters for me lol
