Was the holiday today so kids were home from daycare Got like 3.5 hours of sleep but all hopped up in Starbucks nitro cold brew

 

nice, i am going thru 2 monsters a day. one when i wake, and 1 on my night shift.

 

Yeah, I just applied to Vet Tec so maybe I can get out of this job sometime soon...

 

i wish i could get out of mine... sometimes i just hate O's... make things harder then they need to be.

 

Wish I could get out of here but it’s just too cushy to leave (13 years in) with the background I have and the unfortunate niche I’ve put myself in. Could go corporate but now is certainly not the time to leave a secure, decently paying state job.

 

Yeah, half the people here make shit way harder than it needs to be and try to come up with "new" ways to do things that are really stupid in practice. But alas, they're all on days so their shit gets implemented regardless...

Yeah, I have a feeling if I don't leave soon I'm going to get stuck here. The skills I have now are very niche so I need to get some education/certs to be able to move to something a bit more open. I really don't want to get stuck with what I'm doing now. The only other set of skills I know is also a small area and I haven't been active in it for the last couple years so it's not likely I can find something there easily.

 

That sucks man. i think ill just be a walmart greater when i retire...

I know a guy who went to be a walmart greeter when he got out. He's now in the reserves on active duty orders

Honestly though, if my wife had a better paying job, I'd probably be fine doing something like that.

Drowning. Seems like day shift got nothing done during the holiday because they were way short staffed due to the holiday. So now I get to play catch-up

 

sounds about right. The chick im talking to was supposed to get out at 5 530, left at 645 since they were so short staffed and those that were there didnt really do much...

 

Yeah. Fun times ahead. Oh well.. we'll get it done

 

I forgot it was a holiday until I tried to go to the post office after work yesterday.

 

i only knew since they gave us the day off while underway... had to scratch the head for a minute to figure out why...

 

What even is a day off underway?

pretty much nailed it. i did watch on the day mids today though also to help out the guy that normally stands it. but ya, day off means napping and video games. sometimes swim calls
