Hey guys, just thought I might share this little project. I have a long bed access cab so I thought I'd utilize the space and make it into a bed for some camping. I was able to buy a softopper for $500 on offerup. Next I bought a $50 piece of ply wood from the Home Depot. Did some measuring, cut it up, added some carpet and a pull out drawer underneath. Here is the finished product:

Its cut up into 5 pieces so its easy to pull out and store away.

Nice work! How does the soft topper seal against dust? That would be my main concern having a bed in the back. My truck is perpetually in a state of being blanketed by dust inside and out.

Thanks, as far as dust I think if I keep everything zipped up and tight it should be fine:mudding:The soft top is actually made out of really good material.

Yeah it's not 100% dust proof, even with sealing the cubbies, front of the bed, and tailgate I still get a fair bit of dust in on long trips.

Ironically, I get a lot less dust and water than with my LEER 180 though. I believe its because the soft topper breaths a bit, and thus doesn't create as much of a low pressure environment inside the bed and therfore doesn't suck as much dust in.

Also, because it breathes, I find it tends not to stay wet for too long when water does get in.
