vF Tuner for the 3.5L Tacoma

    I believe one of the choices in vF Logger (maybe absolute) starts at 0% and others at 14%. If it was truly at 0%, it would not let any air in to idle. Plus closing a throttle blade in a throttle body all the way could cause some wear and/or binding.

    I don’t remember there ever being a tune with gear lock that didn’t use ECT+S.
    Mat did say that the final 2.0 (not out yet) was supposed to have gear lock in “S” mode and towing tune in ECT. But no other tune in the past has ever had this.

    the last 2.0 BETA P5f performance tune was GL in the S mode with out ect - thus both S and D mode with ect were performance tunes. It was the hiccup tune in 04B04.

    1st - plate remains at 3°opened, while the sensor is at 0%.
    2nd - vf logger has a bunch of generic OBD PIDs.
    3rd - I have yet to come across 14% anywhere in Toyota specific applications.

    Let's say it is the case and assume 14% is 3° of open plate . Then 82% of max throttle mention here is 17° or so of open plate. But I have opened that plate at lest to 54° per toyota specific applications and not even touching the firewall.

    04b04 tune guys. I have a very heavy truck with 5.29 gears with 35s and run 91/93 fuel. Can anyone help me out with a tune. I am running the red clay rally this weekend and still have a lot of things to get the truck ready. I was finally able to get the VF tune program downloaded. Any help would be greatly appreciated.     Did you ever come up with an Eco tune for ECT button?

    If if I'm understanding correctly, for primary downshift you'd want to probably *90 or some other similar, not crazy number, and for upshift you'd want a higher number no?

    Perhaps @Mooseditty17 can weigh in. And yes, I say "moosetitties" in my head literally every time I read or type out your handle lol

    In my experience with the FO maps that May developed, where he'd warned us MT folk that we'd see fuel economy losses, we actually found ourselves getting better fuel economy and I've suspected for a long time that it had something to do with the additional low end power allowing the truck to not work as hard lower in the RPM band while chugging along in a higher gear.

    So for anyone developing an Eco tune, this may be something to consider.
