I'm good with my hands but I wouldn't call myself mechanically savvy. Might eat the price and get this one done at the shop haha

Don't blame you, I've found with age sometimes its just easier, makes more sense to solve it with your checkbook even if you can do it yourself.

Is this worth it over getting a cmc and some trimming just to fit 285/75r16? Because I was just gonna send it and buy some. Then cmc if needed and trim if needed. I’ve heard lots of people fit 285 on stock trd pro.

I spoke with a shop about this exact thing. And they said even with CMC the most they’d recommend is a 275/70r16. But I think it really depends on the driving your doing that determines if it’ll make contact. They quoted me $300 for the CMC, vs about $900 for the lift kit, install, and alignment

yeah I’m not sure either. But I’ve heard multiple people fitting the 285s on stock pros. I’m thinking I might do that and just cmc and trim. It’s just so random tho. Because some people say they didn’t do cmc or trim. Others say so. Wish there was a yes or no answer haha

haha exactly.. and I’m not confident enough in my abilities to just pull the trigger and then make whatever modifications are needed for it. I’m definitely leaning towards doing the lift kit. I’ve heard tons of good things from people who’ve done it, and it’s a sure fit.

Yea I feel that. I just think having a shop do a cmc isn’t that bad. Plus trimming seems easy enough. I was thinking about this lift but then people were saying it’s not good if you off-road. So that made me skeptical.

For sure. I don’t think there’s any off-roading I’d be doing with or without this kit, until I have some beefier off-road suspension. The shop I spoke with said seemed pretty confident that’d it’d handle any moderate off-roading just fine. Definitely not meant for rock crawling or high speed desert running haha

I wanted a little more lift on the pro but didnt want to gut the entire thing, so i went with the rough country 3 inch kit, only $499. That with a cmc and some trimming i'm running 315/70/17's

When you say level 4ish, do you mean in the Icon stages?

yea it’s a block. You can sell your trd pro suspension for $1k - $2k depending on the buyer. If you want a lift take that money and invest it in a proper suspension lift.
