Might be hard to tell, but it hasn't stopped raining yet. Forecast said 0600 would stop and then start to get nice. I was really hoping the weather would stop and the deer would start feeding.
Instead im sitting here in my goretex and the chill keeps sinking in.
Only had 1 come by and it was a quick jog through, never slowed down.1012200732.jpg 1012200733.jpg

Man that was the hardest part of hunting 2nd rifle in colorado last year. the 2.5 hours between walking to my spot at 4am and the sun coming up around 630 felt like an eternity. It was starting in the low teens and warming to the high 40s during the day..

I hunted last year in Michigan in 5 degrees. No sun. Felt like 0 with windchill. I’d kill for 40 during the day. Or an extra $1000 that I could buy all Sitka gear. Cold weather sucks.

I’d take cold any day if the week, but yea $1k in Sitka gear would make those cold mornings more manageable lol. I’m just layering my cheap Killik camo and praying I don’t go hypothermic

Haha good luck. I’ve got Sitka medium weight bad layer, heavy weight base layer from rei, and then just layering jackets after that. It’s not at all comfortable. I feel too fat to hold the bow right and too cold to get accurate shots haha.

Well sweat in the enemy of warmth. If you sweat walking to your stand you will be cold the whole time. Try merino wool as a base layer if you don’t already. Extreme moisture wicking and retain something like 90% of the heat when wet.

I get pro pricing on Sitka gear due to LEO. They just sent out a coupon code for friends and family. If you one of you guys wants it I can pm you. Usually about 40% off, which makes it more manageable.

that’s an awesome offer, and I appreciate it. I’ll pass for now because I can’t really spend the 250 on bibs. But that would be a smoking deal.

edit: and thanks for your service

Hey thanks for the offer and for your service! Ive got a buddy that has a prodeal through them.. problem is i cant even really afford it with 40% off

Dropped about 3500 on this hunt in montana between a new bow, tags, gear, and travel expenses so I am tapped out for the season. Any more money and my wife will likely make me sleep in my truck permanently

No I don’t sweat when I walk to my stand. It’s just poor circulation. I’m cold even when I’m warm LOL

I feel you. I’ve been rocking the same pair of redhead bibs for 12 years and it was time to upgrade. Going to be wearing the fanatic bibs for the first time this weekend. Cold fronts coming in and temps are gunna drop to the 30’s.

I just successfully called in two does to my blind, they came right in and we are currently hanging out. They are giving me pointers.

But in reality, they popped up on the edge of the field about 50 yards away about 15 seconds after I called. They knew EXACTLY where I was based on how I called. Stared at me for 45 seconds then ran. Glad to see it worked though.

Yeah, thank you for the service and offer! I had upgraded my old m65 to an Under Armour brow tine jacket after 2018 season when the sales were awesome, can't it's been doing the job down into the teens w/ the right layers.
But I do covet some of the sitka bibs!

The extinguisher, does, buck, and fawn call. I was doing a buck call because I heard one grunt about 40 yards behind me yesterday but didn’t have a call. Would have been a good chance to lure him up.
