    Yes. The TSB notes that.

All that I can say is the latest TSB software makes noticeable and good changes for the OV Tunes to enhance.

yea, i hear that. except in my case mine will literally be $75 for absolutely nothing but opening vftuner once and looking around trying to figure out how to load 5.29 test tune for feedback and giving up.

maybe not, wait to see what Mat has to say after he digs in and whether it's even worthwhile to do so.

Good call. im getting ahead of myself. as long as my current ecu doesnt go by the way side on support i should be solid till i decide to fork it up.

Most manufacturers make updates during the course of the vehicles production life.
So you'll see newer cars with newer calibrations. It's pretty standard.

But flashes that need to be applied after the vehicle has left the dealer is usually pretty rare.

This is Toyota's 7th tune version and 6th post sale calibration update (when accounting for all model years). I'd say extremely rare in my experience.

A real testament to the terrible engine / trans combo.

Toyota obviously blew the 3rd Gen tunes and made tuners out of folks who would never touch an ECU.

That said, there have been at least two flashes on our Subaru that runs very well since new.

    Right.
The actual engine is great. The trans is great.
    The software is crap.
6th gear ratio could be better.

Agreed! Even on the MT, it could be a just bit taller.

MTs. Our 6th is pretty close to 5th.

But, yeah. The ATs final drive should have been anything but 3.909.

The 5/6 gap in the MT is kinda weird so i could see being a bit taller. Or adjust the whole gearbox so there is a more consistent gap... like 1/2 sucks ass.

The AT, should have different gears and a 4.30 or 4.88 rear end lol
