Does and one have a performance tune for ECU 04B30 they would be willing to share?. I have not started to attempt custom tunes yet and will not have the time to mess with it before this weekend when I will be towing a trailer and looking for more than the prem 2.0 tune, stock tires and gears tune.

    Thanks in advance

@Mooseditty17 Another big thank you for the latest premium performance tune! The more and more I drive, the more I love your tune. I swear the truck keeps pulling and pulling I have to let off the gas now vs keeping the pedal mashed.

I'll be taking a road trip tomorrow til Saturday (800~ roundtrip) and I'll get some serious time to test it all out even more.

I got my truck back today from getting my timing chain cover leak repaired!! Dropped it off last Thursday. So 4 working days to finish.
Everything looks NEW and shiny. They replaced a lot of stuff. New oil and fluids, including antifreeze. Also did an alignment, said mine was a little off. Very happy with the repair. Good luck with yours @Mooseditty17 .
I loaded the new tune with all the changes from yesterday and took a short ride. I noticed a little more throttle response and felt like I got full throttle when floored. Shifting is still as smooth as it was. Not a huge change, tune is still excellent. I will see how it does driving to work this evening.
    Here's my 04b04 tune

I haven't been following all these tunes closely. Is your file based on Mooseditty's with additional changes? Or can you explain what you've done? I am loving Mooseditty's but wouldn't mind trying out others!

He and I have the same changes, I just updated mine with yesterday's “acceleration throttle request to air load” map smoothed and increased the "torque calculated base during full throttle" to 5000.
I started with one of his earlier tunes and have followed all of the changes being made.
I also have another tune with higher RPM shift points for ECT and Drive that he and I made. It's like having a "tow mode" ECT. I updated it with all the changes too.

I'm just getting around to installing and getting my VF tuner going.

As I'm going through the process and waiting to hear from OVTune on my stock tune file, is there a away to take some of the awesome work you all have been doing in 04B04 and convert it to my ECU (04B31)?

If I do that update id have to unlock another ECU to tune, right?

BTW, you're the man for keeping that thread up to date. Thank you!

    You're welcome!

Yes. If you Unlocked 04B31, you'd need more credits for 04B33.

Premium fuel by me is like $0.70 a gallon more expensive... I can't justify running it for mileage purposes, honestly what kind of power gainss are you really getting from a premium file? Is there anybody on here that's got enough extra time and money to run a regular file and a premium file on a dyno? Is it noticeable on the butt dyno? I know on my stock tune running premium really didn't seem to make much difference unless I was towing. And even that was pretty negligible.. it would make sense that you're going to gain some horsepower with the advanced timing and everything on these premium tunes but is it 5 horsepower or 25 horsepower?

I have, and the mpg difference for me is about 2mpg more with 91 octane and a notable response to power and momentum increase in the vehicle. If I had to put a number in it it feels like a 10-15ft/lb and 20hp increase

Kreg, changing the throttle request to airload to a linear profile and upping 4k values to 5k didn't jack up the shift points at all??? That's great news! I forgot you're pretty much running the same tune I am. Actually if you're on the latest tune I posted, we are running the same tune. Let me know if these recent first gear throttle updates unleashed the "beast" in first gear.

I believe these files are octane learning. Right? But we're still not supposed to run regular on a premium file. Correct?

I've always felt 91 octane has made the truck run better and quieter...idk it's probably all in my head but it gives me peace of mind. It's only $2.35 a gallon for premium at Costco so it's not too bad for me. Is there any power benefit? Probably a smidge but nothing crazy...I just run it for the peace of mind...I don't like to think I may just be throwing money away :bananadead:

on my MT i notice no increase in fuel efficiency but do notice a bump in power vs regular. But i mostly find the engine runs smoother.

Correct, but you can do the opposite. Run premium on a regular tune.

    Premium
I’ve been running 93 for about a year. It’s pretty cheap in Louisiana.

Yep. Same except for premium. I punched it from a stop sign and spun the tires. 33” Falken wildpeak At3w. Shifting seems to be the same and still very smooth.
