I typically run e0 fuel which a lot of times is 91. I’m hardly driving these days so fuel cost doesn’t really matter

Well the entire gain OVtune was seeing with his premium tune was 20ish whp over stock... so if the premium tune is 20hp more than the regular tune, then the regular tune has no HP gain over stock :D

I do believe that is what OVT noted. Still, that torque at the bottom at part throttle is where it's at. :)

He ended up saying he's not interested in an eco tune, so I'm going to make an offer to the local Toyota guys to get someone willing to test

I don't particularly care about eco tunes, I'm just interested in having one developed for the inevitable time that someone wants one. I can then readily deliver

Playing with your latest 9.29 tune, the gear lock appears to work both in D and S mode when ECT is pressed. I have looked in vF and can’t figure out a way around this if we are just setting the shift points for all ECT gears. I’m ok with this, just posting feedback and wondering if anyone knows a work around. I would prefer it only work in S mode with ECT.

There is no way around it right now. He is setting it up like our old gearlock method.

When we have it ready, there will be shift maps dedicated to S Mode and a gearlock option through custom code.

Thanks for the feedback. Updates sound really nice. Looking forward to them

One more question, haven’t heard an update on the WiFi OBD2 plugs. Not super concerned about when it arrives, as the 12 credits mostly offset the cost and I’ve used them to help tune other ECU’s. Just curious when it’s expected to ship.

so you are talking S mode and no ect = GL, and S mode and D mode with ect = performance map ? wasn't this the hiccup tune setup?

Yeah, the only reason I bought the plug was for the credits, which with the pre-order were slightly cheaper than buying the credits themselves. As far as I'm concerned, I bought 12 credits and am getting a free obd2 plug at some point :notsure:

@OVTune I’m a bit weird in that I like reading technical textbooks. Are there any resources you might recommend for someone who is looking to learn the fundamentals of tuning efi engines?

I've been running 93 Shell since this beaut came out: 04B04_1.05.1_93_Performance.p5f

It sounds like several of us have some good tunes going. Very cool!! I'm loving the return of the low end as well. Other than the glorious power from a stop, in some situations I can nudge the throttle and it will speed up without it downshifting. Another example is previously at ~40 in 5th it would lug at ~1250rpms, now power is there instead of the lug at the same RPMs. Maybe the premium I'm running helps with this too.

I know with all yours help mine is running just as good or even better than the 93P tune above from 18 months ago. Mat fixing the crazy ass shifting bs prior to 2.0 was THE huge improvement because that was my only complaint with 1.05P (however the bumpy road feel is still lingering for me).
