    You can get them done for under $1k if you use your head. I am sure a dealer would love to sell you a scooped painted hood for $5k if you were dumb enough.

    Don't be sorry, just learn from it. We don't want people getting misinformation.

    You can find the parts for the hood and pick them up from your local dealership for just over $500. Use common sense and find a place local to match paint and there you go. Not sure what place advertised $2k, sounds like a load of crap to me, but you never know, a sucker is born every minute.
