    Hi all,

I'm happy to release some pre-production renderings of our long awaited dual swing out tire carrier that will be compatible with both our standard and high clearance rear bumpers for all 3rd Gen Tacomas!

Keep in mind, what you see here is subject to change. Apogee Off Road TYTC3-RRPB-BSO Render 1.jpg Apogee Off Road TYTC3-RRPB-BSO Render 3.jpg Apogee Off Road TYTC3-RRPB-BSO Render 2.jpg

For all of you that currently have our bumper installed, this option will require our weld on tabs.

Luckily we were able to keep our BSM functionality. One thing we will absolutely double check during testing are the parking sensors as they have to be close to the swing out brackets.

Currently we're undergoing extensive stress testing in CAD before we produce a prototype.

We've made sure to include a modular mounting panel on the left for you to apply various accessories such as hi-lifts, rotopax, jerry cans, etc...

It features two push to close latches with easy to reach unlock points, with a bracket that simply bolts onto our current license plate mount.

I know this is something a lot of you have been excited about.

    More details to follow!

Wait, what? You have a bumper that maintains BSM functionality?

Everything, except the ones I haven't done yet ;)
This I would like to know also!
I've been waiting for an aftermarket bumper that keeps the BSM, parking sensors AND rear camera. :fingerscrossed:

+1 for also being a swing out!

What costs more - the program used to draft the product, or the final product? I'm interested in both!

You can get a license for SolidWorks Premium for $1000 right now. So the bumper is more expensive. You could also use

SketchUp is free, or you can use SketchUp Pro for 300 a year.

Will you guys be making a hybrid front/rear bumper? I have been preferring that look over the boxy type lately.

Those are garbage though (opinion). Autodesk Inventor is the only program I can use efficiently when I design stuff for 3D printing. I tried using the free stuff and they just weren't cutting it. They lack a lot of necessary features to create truly intricate parts.

Autodesk Inventor over Solidworks? Interesting. I haven't spent any time on Autodesk. Been a SW user for 15 years but have been hearing more about Autodesk these days. Might have to look into that.

I'm also curious about this $1000 license for SW Premium. I've never seen it below $3500 and even that was a push.

I've also used onshape https://www.onshape.com/en/ a little bit. It's a pretty good free/web based option that's pretty similar to SW.

There is a buy one, get one free sale on GoEngineer. So maybe not exactly $1000...

Hey everyone, heres another update with some accessories bolted on.

Although you can't see them, there are two fold down tables on the inside.

This is a 33" BFG KO2 on a 17" Method NV for reference.

This is a lot of junk to bolt onto the back of a Tacoma in our minds, but in the world of overland, it seems as though there is never enough!

We're going to go through various testing to make sure it stands up to the weight.

4X Maxtrax, 2X 2 gallon RotoPax, 48" Hi-Lift as well. With use of the OEM BSM modules! Tacoma Swingout 1.jpg Tacoma Swingout 2.jpg

Will you have jerry can mounts options too? Thinking you'll release this at the same time as the high clearance?

Yep! We will have options for both.

Hopefully they will come out at the same time, however we're still looking to source a local Tacoma that wouldn't mind cutting up the bedsides to test the HC.
