Give your dealer a call. If they have them you can schedule a time to get it replaced.

I'm going to wait a bit and let the techs at my dealer get a lot of experience learning on someone else's truck.

I think they can change a fuel pump.

How on earth are you guys just getting in and out? I called the bastards two weeks ago and they said they had to order the pump for me and wait until it showed up before they could schedule me and haven't heard a peep since.

The Tundra and 4runner have been active since summer. They are harder than the tacoma to do.

Even since I got my truck back, I think I smell gas in my garage. I crawled under it and didn't see any leaks. I really don't want to take it back, but I am nervous after reading the post about the dealer screwing up a gasket.

Anyone else experience the smell of gas?

You should pop a cel when the tank cant pressurize, but I would take it back. FJ and 4runner owners have had issues after the pump replacement with evap leaks, filler neck leaks and faulty fuel level readings. They are trying to get these in and out as fast as possible.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking - if it were a gasket issue I would expect a CEL. I haven't put more than 50 miles on the truck since the repair.

Canadian here, still no remedy available. Hopefully the pump is the reason my truck drives so lethargically sometimes... Anyone who’s had the pump replaced notice a difference in drivability?

Quite a few things at this point..
Where are you in Oregon? I'm going to the Gladstone Toyota dealership to get mine done this evening. Called them roughly 1 week ago to schedule and order part, then called the day before to make sure the parts were there. They even have a loaner for me since my truck is staying overnight due to my work schedule.

I was gonna call the dealer I ordered it with and see what's up today and if they give me some lame answer that was the plan. There's another toyota dealer in the next town over. Just surprising to me how some of us have gotten it done same day and others are being told the remedy isn't available until November.
