    None - but hoping!
Hello, I was noticing a noise from my drive shaft and an inspection of the undercarriage showed a slight hang in my center support bearing for 2002 Tacoma. I am able to lift and move the drive shaft. was wondering if anyone had some suggestions on a good quality replacement part and if it's safe to drive at the moment?

    Thank you.

I got a Timken on Amazon which is also good. I think you have to go on their website to get the part #

Thank you guys. I will look into them. I believe the spicer will not fit my vehicle. I am a 2wd Amazon said it wouldn't fit my vehicle. I'll Google the brand.

Thanks again for the quick replies!

2wd prerunners (your truck) and 4wd use the same carrier bearing.

Don't go off what Amazon says fits/doesn't fit, they're known to be inaccurate

Ah okay good to know. When I put in my truck specs on Amazon it stated that one did not fit. I am looking now. How about the safety of the vehicle? Seems like it might just be the rubber gasket (hope that's the terminology).

Yeah it’ll work until it doesn’t work but you’ll get vibes before it blows out

Mine was making really bad squealing noises and that’s when I replaced it. There’s supposed to be some play in the rubber bushing. IIRC it’s like 1/2” up or down. The carrier bearing is basically a traditional roller or ball bearing set into a piece of rubber if that helps you visualize it.

He didn’t say anything about a noise in the OP - said there was play in the CB

    OME and worth every penny.
If that's the original, it's time no matter mileage to change it.

That's a lot of old rubber. Nearly 20 yrs.

@goldentaco03 it's pretty much resting. I tried to add a video but I can't save it in any format then a mp4. And it won't accept that. I only have a clanking when I move out of park. Then it's fine after that.
