    Hi all,

First post, with a 2021 Cement DCSB Offroad on order and arriving in the next couple weeks. I'm in Canada.

I've priced out various options for PPF on the truck. My reason for considering PPF is my daily commute involves a section of hwy which is known for stones and chips.

These 3rd gens have been out for a while now. What are the critical high wear areas of these trucks, in stock form with stock tires and mudflaps etc? The pricing I received made me cry so I am looking to only cover the high wear areas.

    Hood - full or partial?
    Roof - full or partial?
    A-Pillars?
    Fenders - full or partial?
    bumper - only painted areas?
    Grille surround?
    Lower doors?
    Rockers?

    Anything else?

    Thanks,

    -Adam

You’ll drive yourself crazy if you’re wanting to keep your truck chip free. And if you did put PPF on, there’s no guaranteeing that a couple of years down the line that the film will continue looking as good as the day it got put on. I’d say drive it as it is, keep some distance behind the car in front, and buy some touch up paint. You’ll save money this way for the inevitable windshield replacement.

Yeah I hear ya. I properly use all my vehicles - track time for the 911, major landscaping for the Kubota, serious kid haulin for the Rav4, and some serious camping/exploring planned for the Taco. But I do like to reasonably protect if feasible. I may do partial wrap on the hood and ferders (metal parts) and leave it at that.

The front bumper wouldn't be a bad addition if you could do that as well. And depending on how serious your camping/exploring is, side steps do a lot as well or sliders with the tread plates.
The bottom edge of the rear door is where I got my first rock chip (of all places:annoyed:).

Just drive it like normal and when it becomes unbearable just wrap the whole truck

Top 4 inches of the tailgate is something you will want to put some on. Every time you close the tailgate, your going to touch the same spot on the paint and eventually it will get pretty scratched.
