Man, my starter started working again! I have a brand new starter sitting on my table, still in the box....

Did that thread not help you out? Did you disconnect the steering yoke? From videos I've seen, some guys have taken the actual motor apart from the solenoid to be able to get it out of the engine bay. It's two long bolts that hold the starter to the solenoid.

You ready to be mind blown don't follow any of the instructions on here pull it out through the DS wheel well opening between the body and the frame. You'll need to take the brake line bracket loose on the frame there but it'll come out through that opening. Just as @Red Baron I did his that way. Screw the instructions on here with the exhaust and all that mess.

Man they work too hard to accomplish a simple task. Over thinking when there is a big hole right in the side that it'll fit through.

Yes ton of markup from them, people love it because alabama power will finance through them and he’s signed people up to like 18% lol can anybody imagine that? The only thing with hiding deductibles in there is you gotta be friends with whoever, cause they’ll call that insurance fraud he’s had a lot want that.

Yeah i see the hole and disconnected the yoke to make room. I tried the tetris approach and remember how much I suck at tetris. I was about to just take the stupid thing apart remove it, take apart the new starter and re assemble it inside. Ill try the jack up and make some room approach. I dont have a jack stand living in an apartment but ill borrow one. Over the turn and jiggle shit

2nd and 3rd gen engines sit quite different in the engine bay. The videos I watched were all 2nd gen starters. The only write up I've seen of the 3rd gens, is here on TW. I haven't pulled my splash guard to see what all is involved, but I don't have to anymore. I find it very strange that my starter didn't act up until 2 weeks after that wheeling trip. A week later, now I have no issues with it whatsoever. I can't explain it.

I think I'm going to hang on to this new in the box OEM starter, just in case this one lives a short life.

The 2nd gen and 3rd gen are slightly different. I'm gonna take a whack at it again then ill probably take it apart try and put it together inside and get it friggin over with.

Also i thought mine was good until last week. Then, lucky me, didn’t show up til 4 days after it was supposed to. I was in my apartment parking lot at 5 am this morning with a 36" extention and a hammer making her sing to start

Well some of the work is being done myself like the flooring and such. How does that work? I just go buy materials and show them receipt?

Also, usually the way the fraud comes up is they write the receipt for a sum greater than what they really charged right?

What happened your roof leaked enough it damaged the floor? Insurance should foot the whole bill?

So I went with the auxbeam 6 gang controller. Installed tonight, except the optional acc switch (to dim) is giving me trouble. Unless it has power going to it the actual switch panel will not work at all. No clue which fuse I should tap into....any suggestion.

Damn u copying me left and right lol. Jkjk. I left a white wire for the dimmer switch just taped and Tucktaway in my engine bay I’ll tap it on the positive leave whenever I want to change the brightness of my switch but I rarely touch it as far as applying power to the switch panel I have it wired to a fuse tap that goes inside of the fuse panel inside the engine bay I can’t remember which one I tapped into but my controller is always on I did that because I want to be able to turn my camp lights on when the truck Is not running

Ha! Well I never planned on buying lights. But with bumper I got bar and 4 pods. Plus 2 pods in rear and figured wtf get ditch lights. So a switch had to happen.

I wired it straight to power and worked, but if I leave it loose I can't get it turned on. Messaged auxbeam on Facebook and was told to extend the wire to inside the cab and tap into the 15 ACC. Well shit auxbeam should have sent with enough wire! I'll try that tomorrow...I'm too tired now!
