Squeaky clutch pedal always bothered me since the late 90s
Learned to live with it as it seemed seasonal like the squeaky doors induced by climate change
But I might have found the elixer for both!

I like everything about my 1st Gen, except the bed hooks require too much maintenance.

Misspelled later, said layer lol. But yeah put some high temp grease on the pivot point of the clutch fork and it fixed my creaking

I have an extended cab and it’s too difficult to put in and take out grocery bags in the rear cab. Someone suggested to have a smaller doors for ease of taking out big items in the rear of the cab.

Another thing that pisses me off are guys coming near my truck and offering money to buy my Tacoma. I did not see any sign that my truck is for sale....

The fact that they don't make them any longer. Would really like a 3rd Gen that was smaller like the first Gen.

After my 2000 regular cab got totaled, I checked out buying the first year of the re-designed Tacomas. My impression was the body seemed rather bloated. As if there was unnecessary empty space between the outside and inside walls of the exterior body panels. It was beefier looking but not really that much larger, it just looked it. I'd have liked the new design to be less so. I ended up buying a used 2003 Certified Toyota 5 speed regular cab in 2006 with only 56K on it. Tires, brakes, oil, gas and two batteries are all I've spent on it these past 14 years.

I actually like the seats and believe it or not I like the clock(I can see it)- I'm 6'1'' and for some reason drive my Taco sitting almost straight up. Probably cause it's a manual and it feels weird to drive laying back. Also, it feels like the perfect size for me, not small at all. Weird. Anyways
    1. Lots of interior rattle, my dash likes to crackle after sitting in the hot sun and cooling down in the AC
    2. 2.7L, slow, and piss poor mpg but oh well
    3. paint chips/scratches easily
    4. the vinyl interior gets dusty so fast. Really annoying to go through a box of armorall each week
    5. my rubber door seals have started to rip apart
    6. Had to replace driver side seatbelt. Started to fray and wouldn't retract, but new one is nice
    7. can't forget the gauge cluster. the odometer button hole allows dust(and bugs) to get in, and to clean you have to tear it apart... by far the worst
