I have all Google/Nest stuff.
Alexa can EAD.

 

Neisys uses the google for her place. whats your opinion on it? i wouldnt mind having it as a alarm clock and turning on a light in the morning to help get me out of bed.

 

I like it. My wife was kinda hesitant but it's grown on her. We've got Google/Nest stuff and Philips Hue lights. Makes it handy to have lights on automatically and to have remote control of em and such. You can set it up for wakeup/bedtime routines as well as things for when you come home/leave the house. Pretty nifty.

 

ya i cant run all the lights in the apartment. They are all LED (Roommate bought a set without knowing that and had to return them). But i want to get a lamp for the bedroom and use it for that. also having a smart plug for my rotating fan would be nice so when i get warm in the middle of the night i can just say turn on.

 

Snagged a gopro and micro sd card on sale. So that's fun.

 

We have 2 echos and one dot. Use them all the time.

 

Most of the lights in the apartment have been replaced with Hue bulbs and we have our AC unit and the fish tank on a smart plug. I think they only bulbs that aren't 'smart' are the kitchen and the lamp in the bedroom.

Which GoPro is it?

 

Only thing I bought was another 4K fire stick to take to work with me. Was looking at some shoes but looked on Under Armor website and they were $10 cheaper. The Echo show 8’s don’t look like a bad price but I already have Echo’s everywhere.

Didn’t really see anything else that I couldn’t live without. You looked on the Prime Day thread on here?

 

Echos can do all that. We’ve got a Ring doorbell and if I’m watching tv and want to look outside just hit the voice button on the remote and say show front door and it pops up on the tv screen.

we have the bigger show in the kitchen to view the cameras/calendar/grocery lists etc then a couple dots upstairs. Lights, outlets, thermostats connected. Alarm/door & motion sensors. No exterior door locks connected though; I gotta draw the line somewhere.

 

Hero 7 black. With discover 5% cash back from Amazon.com and the additional e commerce package discount on amazon... Seems like a good deal. I kinda wanted the 8 since it has a better mic but I don't think it's worth the extra almost $100.

I had a hero 3 black back in the day. Had a protection plan on it. Wifi button quit working after a couple years so I took it back to best buy and they gave me a full refund. Replaced it with a gopro hero and spent the rest on idk what. But I never used the hero because it was big and clunky, didn't have wifi/bluetooth and the battery wasn't great.

Super excited to have the gopro with a built in screen and wifi/bluetooth. OH and one that doesn't require that big dumb case to be waterproof.

 

Yeah, these new ones are crazy. I had a Hero2 that I gave to @gixxerphil a while back. My mom got me a Hero 7 silver last year and that was a hell of an improvement. They somehow find ways to fit more and more shit into these tiny cameras. Wild.

The 8 is awesome. i got it last inport for when i go riding. the 4k on it is amazing also. Only thing is the battery life running that high. need to get a second battery for when i ride so i go out normally longer then a hr. i also like how the app will take segments and makea video for you to post online and such

 

The only thing I can't seem to figure out is the slow-mo setting.
Tried to get a couple videos of a slapshot in slow-mo and it just recorded it normally so I couldn't get it to slow down properly.
I probably just need to mess with it more, I imagine. I've only really used it a couple of times.

 

i need to figure out the GPS in mine. just to show speed and such. more so for when im not goofing off on the bike "cough cough" and just playing nice.

 

I just wanna make some full send videos with the hyper smooth. They’re only gonna get crazier with bigger motors and more powerful batteries.

 

Only thing I really use it for is hockey and if the GPS worked inside the ice rink, it'd probably just be a bunch of back and forth lines and circles lol

the hypersmooth is nice. one the videos i made when i was coming back from a buddies, it was so clear and such. doing about 90 on the freeway and cant tell that i was going much faster then most the traffic. and the background (like the sky and such) almost seemed fake in a way.

I believe the hero 7 has gps, another reason why I picked it. Will be fun for banshee vidjas
