What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I just did a quick read . That product actually makes a chemical bond to the glass so it definitely will be more difficult to remove.

 

Glass has craters and Gtechniq recommends 3 layers of G1 to level out the craters to make it perfectly smooth. I wanted to remove the G1 to try something else.

If it's 000 or less....then yes, it'll probably haze it some. But I doubt 0000 will.....unless you just get crazy with it

VERY simple mod that really changes the look of the truck IMHO.

I got my 2006 Tacoma 4x4 a month ago. One thing that was troublesome is I could not get the hang of releasing the foot ebrake with before going into Reverse or Drive. All my other vehicles have a hand brake and I just had trouble remembering subconsciously to release that foot ebrake. After the 10th time, I installed a reminder beeper. Basically, the emergency brake wire (connector near the ebrake peddle) is grounded when the brake is on and open when off. The other wire you need is the reverse light wire that can be found behind the kick panel plastic panel near the driver side door (mine is red with a white stripe and comes right off a connector). The wire is found in a cluster of connectors near the floor. The R wire is thicker than most because it powers the reverse lights and requires some real current.

The circuit starts with +12V (from the reverse light splice) then to a beeper then from the beeper to the ebrake wire. Whenever the ebrake is on and you shift in reverse (which is required to get to N or D) the circuit is complete and I get a beep to remind me to release the brake. If either the ebrake is off or not in R the circuit is open and quiet. This was very helpful for me. Now I am trained to do it automatically most of the time. The beeper is $9 on Amazon (see below). I put the beeper behind the kick panel area a bit under the carpet facing down. It is very loud. Doing it this way makes the beep level about the same as the other Taco warnings and it sounds natural.

I liked this idea so much I later added the same thing for a reminder to turn my headlights off (when the ebrake is on). Same idea. I love the truck but mine was super basic!

I feel the same way when I go camping with my buddies. We all keep med gear pretty close at hand, but my group of friends includes two paramedic certified firefighters, a critical care paramedic, myself and another Army vet, and a CNA. If someone gets hurt I think it’s a race for who can get to their bag first.

Best / cheap low profile hood ditch like brakets??

 

This is what I have that I've been using for over a year. I've got nylock nuts with rubber washers on the end pressed against the hood because they would bounce around at higher speeds with bad winds, now they're stuck to the hood and don't move from anything
