Yeah, I've been leaning more towards the alu-cab camper due to the fact it has vertical sides and able to step down easily without disturbing another person. But it weighs 150lbs more. Need to save as much weight as I can being in a long bed and having such a low payload cap. Didn't get on board soon enough as lead times look into late january now. But this might be the best option now.

Does the larger sleeping portion able to push up? Or is it all just removable panels i.e. so you can stand up in it and hang out? Wish there were more pics etc.

Welp you’re in luck if you want my early build spot! My wife and I are expecting, and I can’t seem to convince her the X1 will be a fine camping situation. Even though she loved my Flippac, and then the GFC, I’m not able to convince her our future kid will love this thing.

EDIT: ***MIGHT*** be willing to sell you my spot straight up if SuperPacific is cool with it, but we can talk about that offline in a PM if you’re into it

Yes, the larger section folds back as the bed is held up by bungee or similar device. So you have access to the entire truck bed space while standing. Plenty of dancing room

As a GFC owner I’ll say that in the long run you’d rather have the smart guys focus on production than social media. Every minute or dollar they spend on updating Instagram takes away from the delivery of your camper.

Preach it. Very frustrating part of being a GFC owner was seeing social media shit get posted faster than responses to emails about defective product

btw if any one who ordered is a 2 gen and wants to make there own metal bed cap rails let me know. since i can't order them might as well try and make them. i have the curves down i think just some miner details and adding the holes for the screws and should be GTG.

It also has access on the sides if you decide to add a latter so you are not limited to just the bed access so you have some options here.

I would recommend you wait, unless your caps are the same height as the factory ones. Lowering the camper might cause clearance issues- I haven’t heard much from Spencer on their plan forward since we emailed a few weeks ago.

3/4” shouldn’t cause clearance issues, especially since it would make the same as a 3rd gen.

2nd gen bed is 1” lower than 3rd gen, reducing another 3/4” for the bed rails will come very close to having the sleeping platform overhang contact the roof.

Problem is my plastic caps are trash after my last topper. I rather have somthing set up ready to go. I also want to seal my bed more. Guess we will wait and see if they have a solution. just want options as i hate the plastic rails.

figured i offer the drawing up so if its a solution other can get them made.

i tried to order some from relentless, but they wont ship or PC at this time and would have to be batched with a larger order.

You might be trying to solve a problem that doesn’t exist. From what I understand the camper is not made to be removable like a GFC or traditional shell. That being said I’d assume the plastic caps are removed when they install the camper since plastic is a point of failure. I could also be completely wrong.

From what I know the caps will stay on 2nd gen trucks, but maybe that has changed in the last few weeks.

ill message spencer maybe he can give us more insight on there plans, guess we need to see a 2gen model roll out to know for sure. I been fallowing the vagabond thread and most not all. replace there bed rails for the metal ones and seal under them with aluminum tape to help with dust for 2gens as it comes up form all the holes. if those where sealed it wouldn’t be as big of an issue. This is something they offer at pick up for customers who want them. If i have to replace them regardless i want to try and switch to metal

I’ve had some decently extensive convos with Spencer about this- the latest was they did not plan to change the bed rail covers due to the dimensioning I mentioned above. Might not hurt to ask again, though, as i haven’t heard from them in a few weeks

I’d be interested but to be used for a Ripcord style build. That’s it it works for my build
