Sometimes when I start my truck up I get an error that my kenwood unit is unable to format the ipod, so I just turn the unit off (not the truck) and then back on and it works again. I know its simple but hopefully it works and good luck

does the ipod work when not connected to the truck?

mine froze up and i had to reset the ipod before it would work. my memory is bad, but i think i had to hold down the center circle for a few seconds. after it reset, it worked fine.

I have a pioneer also and have had trouble with the ipod since day 1. My main problem was either my left or right speakers would go out only with the ipod. I went to avic411.com and found that most people solved this problem by ditching their pioneer cable for an apple cable. The apple cable was $$$ (50.00) but it fixed my ipod issues. Shitty pioneer cable I guess. You could try it and see.
