The thing that stands out to me about Hickory is how the roads are named. I’m pretty sure locals just get around by memory and landmarks. I get lost there without GPS trying to follow roads because every road is a number, road type and direction. 11th Ave. NW, turn left on 6th St. SE merging into 4th St. SW arrive at 1234 1st Blvd. NE type directions.

In Charlotte I know if I’m on Beatties Ford Rd. to turn the hell around. In Hickory I can’t remember if it’s 3rd Ave. NE, SE, SW, NW thats the bad part of town.
