Holy shit homie! You get a free O.z with that? Remind me never to move to California! Great to visit but shiiiiit, expensive to live in. Is Washington or Oregon that bad?

Here in NJ, I paid $75.00 to renew my registration.

    Probably $160 here.

You live in the wrong state to bitch about taxes. Move or stop complaining.

As someone who has moved two dozen times in my life. Yes it is.

You can do anything you want to do. It's just a matter of how important that thing is to you.

$289 for my 2015 in Iowa, same price as last year. Only $11 for my motorcycle though. My wife has a 2015 ford escape and it's about the same price.

sometimes if you leave for less money to go elsewhere the standard of living and the taxes will better favor your move, that's life tho you have to weigh out the pros and cons and make a decision for yourself

Oh yeah and it’s a smog year. So $60 or whatever for that too.

So just on registration I’m gonna be shelling out $400

GA changed their laws a few years ago, I'm thinking around 2010. If it was bought prior to this date you paid 7% sales tax at the time of purchase, then an additional ad valorem tax each year. I pay about $170/year on my 2007 Tacoma and about $75/year on my 2009 Honda Fit. But anything purchased after the law changed is 7 1/2% at the time of purchase, then $20/year. Since I bought my F150 in 2016 I only pay $20/year for it.

Like I already said in this thread it's not that easy. I've worked through 3 years for grad school and 7 years in the industry to get to where I am today. My type of work is very niche and there are only a handful of companies that do this type of work in the US. Moving for the sake of moving to drive an uber until I can hopefully convince someone that I'm not too specialized to hire is shortsighted, to say the least.

Yes, I will move eventually, but the point of this thread is to research costs in other states to make sure I don't walk into another mess.

Not a 2015, but in Colorado it is going to run me $427 for a 2019. So same price, but 4 years newer. I hope that the government there is at least using lube when they......well, you know.

That’s absurd. Just remember that when you finally leave California, also leave your trash voting and political views there. Thanks, from everyone else in America.

Nice political blanket you’re putting over everyone in CA.. care to take it off me and a lot of other people who live here and don’t have the views I’m sure you think we have anytime you meet someone from California? :)
