I just came here to say.. excuse my language, but holy shit these things are bright! I wish now that I would’ve gotten all red dome though. Would’ve been plenty bright enough especially considering I got all white maps.

I also had a glow after testing them and turning them off. Referring to dual color dome, it only happened on the white LED’s. Will check again in the morning. Is this something to be concerned about or?

I've got way to much bass in my truck for that little festoon to cut it.
Stayed in place maybe 5 seconds when turned up.
Would it be possible for me to cut off the supplied festoon end then solder one of these festoon adapters like this one on the right in pic?

yeah I just figured that out today after I installed mine. I just wrapped tin foil around the butts and that seemed to keep it in place better.

Received my dual dome light this evening.
Pulled out my original Meso all white dome light from two years ago out to get the new one in.

    Below are some pictures.

I gotta say, I’ve always considered @MESO ’s stuff to be top notch (I also have his 2nd Gen Dual Map’s as well as his overhead Molle Rack) but the fit & finish of these injection molded parts are top notch!
Well worth the wait to get these updated dome lights.
Kudos @MESO !!! Job well done!

My guess is the 3rd gen units use the smaller festoon and this saved production costs between 2nd/3rd gen. I don’t like having to pinch fit this thing and at the end of the day it is not the correct width, but it works. I guess if it wont come on anymore I know it’s probably popped out of place.

That being said it looks fantastic in my GX470 with a 2nd gen dome. I even painted beige to match

MESO sent you a pm and received no response from you, so I guess I'll post my issue here.

I have your ultimate map lights, have had them for about 2 or 3 years at most. Recently had the white leds go out on left side, all but one strip...and 2 strips on right side went out. All the red leds work. Is this is a known issue or can I send them back to you to have them fixed and mailed back to me, as I don't know what exactly the problem is.

Installed the map lights, although they get stuck. In that when I press them up, they dont pop back down to turn on. I still have the original reflectors installed, is that the cause of the lights getting stuck?

Yes. They will work better with the original reflectors removed.
I made the same mistake when I first installed mine as well.

I still have reflectors in and have no issues. I think the issue is the very small plastic piece that meso’s light tabs snaps onto. If they don’t line up perfect, and snap into place, it doesn’t seem to work correctly. I played with mine forever and finally got it to work without any “stickiness”. Reflectors still in. Not saying it doesn’t help to take them out, but I don’t think it’s the main issue.

I had that problem when I originally installed mine, unbeknownst to me I had them installed backwards....as in the drivers side was on passenger side, and the passenger side was installed on drivers side. Once I switched them, they worked perfectly fine. I may be wrong but I believe they should be marked with either a L/R for left and right or a D/P for drivers side and passenger side

    Just to chime in here..
Both sides are the same. There may be small amounts of tolerance variations on the posts they snap into, the overall perimeter of the plastic overhead, and my plastic housings. They were designed to be tight, so if they are hanging up try swapping sides and even cycling them a dozen times by hand to loosen up the plastic posts. It also helps to remove the chrome reflector to give the wire more space to move. Hope this helps

Any ideas about the residual glow in the LEDs? Not a deal breaker, and I still love the product, but would feel a little better without that situation.
