Sub’d will read through later. Hopefully Power draw and air movement spec’s are in here someplace. Very interested in this.

 

the air move specs are under lock and key with the OEM. but since i already have released for gm the 600w version to fix corvette track overheating issues this 834w fan is going to be overkill. power draw at max should be about 70amp

 

Which will mean AC performance at idle will be through the roof and super ice cold on really hot days.

 

@Deo taco if this will add a max 70amp current draw to the truck, what will the avg current draw be approx ? 70amps is like adding a second massive stereo system to your truck so I am wondering about the weak OE alternator output. IE: If I already have a ton of accessories and a high end audio system is my oe alternator going to be able to keep up with this ?

 

remember that is only at MAX fan speed. i highly doubt any truck will command more then 60 to 70%

Some of the PWM set ups have an ac override where the fan is on max speed when the ac is on. Not sure if OP added this feature.

Good job OP. It' still kinda mind boggling that Toyota left a pretty significate MPG improvement on the table for what is a relatively common and easy update.

 

70% duty would imply a 49 amp draw. A 60% duty at max effort would imply a 42 amp draw. Looks like I may need to replace my alternator when I get this setup because mine does not like heavy amperage draw that my sub gives it when it is pounding around.

 

Sub'd This would greatly increase the air movement and decrease the trans temps while towing slow on dirt roads. Maybe I will get around to installing my CSF radiator if I get this also.

 

The challenge with trans temps is the 195 degree thermostat at the tranny. I've got an aftermarket trans cooler, which helps keep it below 200 most of the time, but it still warms up to 195.

 

What does the t stat look like? Or is it internal to the tranny? I would be curious as to whether or not the thing can be replaced, or even eliminated from the equation.

 

It can be pinned so it's always open. There's pics of it in the trans fluid check thread

 

I would highlight in this mod that that should be done in conjunction with the mod itself somewhere in the instructions or in the online write up as a footnote or something then.

 

I never pin mine. There's a couple of schools of thought associated with that mod.
