SO this was bugging the hell out of me today - so every day I do *one* thing to my 2020 Tacoma. Today - I took the striker plates and tailgate hang wire and painted it all black.


Figured as long as I was at it - it had three bolts on both sides of the gate that were galvanized - so painted them as well.


And yes - I did the two bed ties as too.

 

H9 Phillips bulbs in the low beam projectors. Mounted the fuzz-buster and my new phone charger/mount.... that thing is slick. The arms automatically grip the phone when it detects the Qi device. All wires tucked away nice and clean.

 

What brand deflector is that on the hood?

 

They have two - one is for the hood scoop - and the other is for without.

I have a steel DV8 Off Road skid, weighs 56lbs. Solid skid, but no removable covers for oil filter change so I have to remove it each time. I use a floor jack, and it works great. I just balance the plate on the jack and maneuver it into place. I’m 62 years old and can remove and replace it in about 15 mins each way.

 

This is the one without the bump.

Some TRD emblems on stock TRD Offroad rim caps (cheap from AliExpress). Popped out the Toyota logo, added some gorilla tape (for extra stickiness) and voila!

Tomorrow my new sport hood arrives. I ordered 3M vvivid paint protection film which arrived today. It’s a 60” roll less than 1-1/2” in diameter. I’d love to know what drugs the guy shipping it out was on, because he put it in a 52” X 28-1/2” X 6” box with zero packing material. The roll is now bent and crushed.






Is this even usable? How much more difficult will installation be if I even try?

 

I bought a stick of memory from eBay once. Seller sent it in a regular envelope. Just an envelope, nothing else. It arrived broke in half. I sent it back. You should do the same.

 

I would try laying it out flat and put a bit of weight on the wrinkle for a day. The material does stretch a bit so perhaps when you apply it you can stretch out and residual wrinkles.
Obviously a rookie packer since rolling it the other way would have resulted in being able to put the roll in a considerably smaller box.

Thanks! That would have saved me a bunch of money. Since I could only find them for over $100 I decided it was just better to spend that money towards a new bumper....
