Winds have been crazy here too. Had a bit of hail roll through for a minute this afternoon and back to sunshine a moment later

noticed quite a few loose shingles on the sidewalks and on lawns today too...its been crazy

yeah - wind, rain, then sunny here. rinse and repeat. i'm over it. not really the norm either - maybe a day here or there but 5 days straight? come on...
stupid wind kept me up last night. bedroom window faces west so every gust was hitting head on.
and since i work from home i go for a walk every day just to get out and move a bit. regretted going the last couple days...too freaking cold today and yesterday i got hit in the back of the head with something. not sure what it was....

Yeah sadly I owuld not be surprised at all! Ugh it is all over here.

Also OMG the winds the last few days have blow everything to kingdom come. I had some friends keeping a 5th wheel camper on my property and drove it back to Butte on Wednesday. The drive took them an hour and a half fighting winds the entire way. :crapstorm::ballchain:

    I'd love to. (I think)
Never disliked any of my trips to WY or MT.

initiation by fire.... what kind of tires you got? planning on getting any sandbags for the bed?
and for getting up to Tech in the dead of winter...you gotta be doing about 40 at the bottom of the dip in order to be doing 5 at the top. or go up to granite where its not so steep and where the cops wont be waiting for speeders during finals week.
my trick used to be to go on the school bus routes. if anything gets plowed or sanded on the hill it will be the routes that the buses take.

I've got triple peak all terrains they've done well in everything so far, including some unplowed snow yesterday. I'm not sure how they'll handle ice but I'm looking into getting a set of studded ATs soon. And yeah, I was planning on grabbing some sandbags or concrete for the bed this weekend. I'll have to feel it out as the weather gets worse, but that's a good idea to go around back. The last thing I want to do is bomb it up that hill just to find someone right in that crosswalk.

studded tires probably aren't a bad idea. not going to be necessary most days but when you need them...you'll be glad to have them.
way back when I was a student at Tech I had a front-wheel drive Oldsmobile sedan....granny wagon...but that freakin car never disappointed me. I made it up that hill every time. There were some dicey trips but I always got to class on time. the only time I lost traction on campus I was on foot. I was walking up from the parking lot and was in front of the library when a gust of wind came over the hill and started to blow me backward. Some giant of a guy, probably a football player, grabbed me by the shoulders and pulled me over into the grass to stop me from sliding further back down the hill. I remember he asked me, "are you OK?" as I was still frozen, mid-stride and thinking "yeah, I'm good"

Yeah that hill is bad enough dry, I've already seen people trip down it and one poor guy roll back in a wheelchair...It's definately going to get interesting when it's icy.

I pulled my snow shovel out of the garage and into the house Friday and I needed it yesterday. Still down down here but lightly. I guess it is that time of year!!!

Air conditioner is stowed away for the year, sand bags are in Toy, snow blower is unearthed from the mound of crap, summer only camping gear stowed, snow brushes are in the trucks.
I pulled all liquid items out of the camper yesterday and turned off the heater. Holding out for one more trip before I call it quits and finish cleared out the rest of the food and what not.

...and after you winterized the camper, that right there usually generates a late summer temp surge doesn't it?
