Theft is now legal in many areas, not going to lock up non violent offenders. Can't fine them either, no money. There simply is no punishment unless you catch them in the act and assault them, then you go to jail. How you vote is what matters most, not hard to figure out which party to support.

Yes, they should be educated on how to unbolt things instead of cutting them off.

Social services should include not having to work given time to steal from others.

I think we're on the same page, you're just skipping around instead of reading the whole paragraph. Have a nice night internet stranger

Since crime isn’t going anywhere but you’re still driving your truck...

Building lights into skids and bumpers is the absolute best way to keep them from getting stolen. Making quick mounts that are easy to remove big lights when not using them (literally not using them - not leaving them on while at a hotel on vacation too) is the best way to keep them from getting stolen.

I have a set of BD cubes that I cut windows for in my skid and bolt into the skid which you won’t be able to access without removing the skid.

Ante up and use security hardware or at least a couple different bolt heads. BS for sure.

Or just tac weld one or two bolts in, really not tough to undo, especially if you double nut and solid weld it, then you're only sacrificing a nut

I was thinking the same thing. Just drill out the tack or dremel it out. Whatever you can think of that slows them down will make it one factor less likely to get stolen since I guess it’s time vs. chance at getting caught for thieves, but yeah try not to within reason leave tempting crap on your truck period.

Damn. Ultimately who knows, you could be up against the Walter White of truck parts thieves, but using a torx or Allen cap bolt here or there can’t hurt - did they use his jack to jack up his truck?

I'd rather kneecap myself than use torx, I hate working on bimmers and fords, shit always strips.

OP sincerely I’m bummed for you - I live in lower crime areas than I used to when I didn’t have a car, but now I’m conditioned still to keep anything I don’t want walking away out of sight / reach of thieves. Removing any expensive stuff that’s easy enough to remove and get away with is my best advice.

This is why I'm hesitant to put TRD Pro Fox shocks on my truck, the carport is on the main strip in town.
