I just got a new Tacoma almost totally because of the insane resale prices. I saw a TRD Sport with 10k miles for $1,000 off sticker... but the dealer was giving $1,000 incentive on new ones. It was literally the same price as new.

Used Tacoma prices are indeed insane right now.

those are good offers! Yeah I had a trade when I purchased mine so I got the tax break. I’m planning on keeping this one for years to come so re sale doesn’t matter at the moment unless I had to unloaded it for some emergency reason I know I probably won’t be upside down which is a good feeling.

I tend to agree with you... but the Fiesta ST was the single most fun car to drive I have ever owned. I like the way it looked, inside and out, and it had alot of great features. In many ways that $20k Ford is far ahead of my $40k Toyota. My Tacoma wont even automatically turn the headlights on and off. The ford had better voice recognition (for me... ymmv) the infotainment center was nicer (Sync 3).

If only the build quality of that fiesta was better I would still own it. Ford builds nice cars... their quality control and vehicle longevity is just garbage.

    Smh.

That is about how I felt about my 2015 Chrysler 300C I traded for the Tacoma. It was a nice vehicle with a ton of quality problems. Mostly recalls and parts that failed using the lowest bidder. Didn't help the dealerships were terrible. Once the warranty was about to end I decided it was time to say goodbye.

i noticed the carvana prices came down a lot. 2020 DCLB trd OR. just a month ago carvana offer was around 36k. just did another one right now and the offer was $29k. only change is the truck has around 1,500 more miles than the last time i did carvana. either way i think these trucks have always had really great resale value.

I've got my eye on a 2020 with exactly what I want HARD.. Asking $41k. You can build a 2021 with the same specs for the same price so I may try to get them down a bit. If I can get it for $40k that's 5k more than a 2017 I was looking at but with 2020 features and 5 miles vs 30k.

My truck is an 05 in great shape so I feel like I can get top dollar for it right now.

I have the new truck fever hard right now but I can't help feeling like I'm standing on the edge of stupid...

I just bought a 2018 4x4 V6 SR5 with just 7,200 miles that the dealer listed for $35,000 all in (after taxes, fees, etc). It's hard to say the exact price I paid because I traded in a car that they offered me $9,000 for and I countered at $14,000 trade-in credit and they accepted.

Best part is (1) the trade in was a 2016 Hyundai Sonata hybrid with a full hybrid system failure, non-functional air conditioning, a motor that started making an awful noise and I was afraid to drive it, damaged bodywork from a huge oak tree branch falling on it, and a number of electrical issues. (2) the dealer mis-advertised the SR5 on their website as a TRD Off-Road and when I complained, they cut me a check for a $1,500 refund.

So basically, I feel like I got a two year old Tacoma with 7,200 miles for about $29,500 net. I offloaded a lemon that was worth maybe $10,000 at most and ended up paying just the $19,500 difference for the truck after the refund.
