What one considers the best is all up to the butt dyno, unfortunately most of don't have the option of testing each and every set up. So we find what works for us. What works for me and my ass may not work for yours.:fistbump::cheers:

Op, Just give @HeadStrong Off-Road a call they'll help you out. But give them a call early they tend to be busy.

I am also new to Tacomaworld with a 2020 Tacoma and tried to search as much as I could but there is really A TON of information out there and can really take some time to go through. I'll let you know what I decided on. It's a new truck so I wanted to do things the right way and felt like going with a leveling kit is going cheap. I went with a fairly common option of Bilstein 5100 shocks, Old Man Emu front springs, add a leaf for the rear, and upper control arms. This will give me 2-2.5 inches of lift in the front and 1.5 in the back. I just wanted to add larger tires for some light off roading.
I would look up bilstein 5100s and aftermarket springs or Eibach shocks/springs and go from there. Again, I am no expert and am also new to all this, just wanted to give you a starting point to do your own research.

    Thanx TacoBuffet
I plan on changing my tires from 265/70 to 265/75 for about .6" more clearence, and I wanted to ask someone's opinion besides my kids what is the best way to get an extra 2" of clearence I have my old school thoughts but were looking for newer thoughts of the (sorry to say younger generation) of which method they thought would work best.
    please advise

This here is the perfect introduction kit to get familiar with the truck. Definitely an upgrade from stock and will be a stepping stone further into the rabbit hole if you like getting the truck dirty.

OP, don’t expect to be spoon fed what others have tested and found what works for them, when you’re too lazy to do research yourself - don’t take that personally. It’s just the truth.

It’s like when I was a personal trainer and competed competitively (bodybuilding) and people would ask me “what’s the best workout, supplements, and foods to eat?” There’s no way to answer that without bullshitting and giving a run of the mill answer considering I don’t know their budget, genetics, previous history working out, food allergies, bloodwork for health markers, etc.

Obviously not the same thing, but you should get the point - answering that question without knowing anything about your budget, wants, needs, mechanical aptitude, truck paid off or making payments, etc is a bullshit answer that may end with you being unhappy with your lift and leaving a sour taste in your mouth about TW...we don’t want that.

Provide us some background, and preferably with some proper grammar - people are more likely to chime in when they don’t get a headache reading your posts. I know it’s the internet, but it goes a long way here (or any forum).

    Thanks!

I mean, I've lifted a few and currently my 2020 is stock, despite what the herd will say lifts I'm sure as you know even done right come with some trade offs (decreased MPG, warranty fights with the dealer possibly, increased wear and tear on components), was honest with myself this time around and know I just don't need the possible future headaches though I do love modding my Tacos. On that note, since you are only looking for another 2'' I would honestly just grab an 1'' from the 265/75s and than another 1'' leveling it, this won't really impact wear and tear, etc. and mitigate any possible issues later down the road with a more involved lift. With that said I would go with 5100's up front and call it a day, start there and if you feel you are adding armor, needing more articulation, etc. than you can change up your build accordingly, the rabbit hole runs deep my friend.

No prob, snag some 5100s level it out, throw some nice ATs on there and test her out, then go from there if need.

I’m not to sure about this. He said he already has brand new truck, and WANTS not need new lift. He is also on Tacoma World so we know he has endless cash in hand :) Meaning tell him the best to get and he’s ready to buy. I’d be referring to a buddy of mine if I read this and he was local. OP is ready to roll out.

Or he’s actually a stupid young kid, barely affording a truck payment and wants to Look cool to his friends by lifting it and spending even more money lol.

plenty of those here too I’m sure.

Not directed at you specifically. But I know what you mean. Pro grille, tire size, LEDs, etc..repetitive and hides the legit threads or juicy ones haha.

Yep, as well as the middle aged men who somehow convince themselves they need Kings and 285's on Volks for trips to Home Depot.

No worries, I can see how my initial post maybe viewed as harsh by a new member too. I swear if I see another what size tires without lift thread though...

I mean if they’re financially “there” in life and have comfortable amounts of money to blow after making all the right moves in life, more power to them lol. If they’re middle aged and broke - well, that’s even worse than a dumb young kid. I’d know - I was that dumb young kid lol.

I’m still confused? Then why not set him up with goods then if he can’t pay you can buy at discount if he parts it out before selling to the bank. I’m just thinking out loud here.

Same. Whenever I get the itch to deck mine out, I think about all the dudes in the 80's and 90's decking out trucks, cars etc. with crap they never needed, bet they wish they had that money back. I have the means now more than I did in my early years, but also know that money can be better spent / put to use and don't need to keep up with the IG Jones or to sink $2k+ in my more than capable truck to bomb down Dad's farm roads or desert in AZ to get to riding spots either. Been here a long time and seen this weird evolution of guys just modding Tacoma's for primarily functionality and threads on how to do maintainence, etc. to now 3rd gen owners buying a new $45k OR and immediately throwing on 285s and a lift, definitely feel its become this status symbol now more than a hobby. Time to get off my soap box, gotta early day cleaning up sh*t, drug dealing and handing out turkey sandwiches.
