I was driving my brother's truck and clipped a pole. Whoops

Insurance is a nightmare, not worth the hassle, door is livable with a little scrape but the truck bed looks terrible.

Anyone parting a long bed? thoughts on where to find a replacement rear passenger bed-fender & flare?

Lucky for you the bedsides just bolt on. You'll just need it painted.

Oh man..... if i was your brother id be PISSED. "Little scrape" in the door... looks like you dragged the pole across the entire side of the truck front and rear doors, man id hate to see what a "big scrape" is.

Like stated bed sides are just bolted on so not too bad as long as supports are still good.

Remind me not to park next to you when im up in ventura next time :D

I’ve seen the matching marks on the poles at the gas stations. One time I asked the attendant what people say when they do that. He said they get all pissy and act like it’s the stations fault for putting the poles there.

The best one I heard about was a flatbed driver that got all pissy because the attendant wasn’t getting to him fast enough, so he attempted to haul ass out of there. He cut it too tight, ended up with the deck sitting on top of the pole, the rear axle pushed back , and the driveshaft popped out of the transmission. LOL

Thanks for the only helpful reply so far. Any recommendation for where to get the right body panel besides Toyota dealer?

*BTW - Yep, I drove right over that thing, accidents happen, it was hot af, I just loaded 15 bags of concrete, 60 pieces of lumber to build little brother a new fence. He's is not pissed because it's just a truck, not a vintage Ferrari. Also, I'm a good brother and I'll either fix it or give him a few $k to sell this and upgrade. Hoping posting on this form nets more advice than criticism. Thanks in advance

Jeez! Lighten up Karen. You know good and well if it was somebody else you’d be right there in the middle of it. “Clipped the pole? You made that pole your Bitch.”

25% helpful is better than most posts get. Just remember the jokesters keep your post bumped to the top so someone with helpful info might see it. You don’t want people without answers just ignoring your post. The bs is what keeps your thread alive.

@buckski make a WTB post in the “2nd gen market place” and in the“SoCal” forum. Seems like bedsides pop up all the time with people going long travel. Might even get lucky and find them in your color...

I smashed into a pole at the gas station in a Uhaul slid down some snow and wham knocked the whole bumper off. Thank god the pole was there or it would have been an inferno. I rolled up to Uhaul the next day with the bumper in the back truck all trashed. The guy still did a walk around he looked at the paper work and saw I bought all the insurance he was like ok we’re good here :rofl:

Wow you just know when it’s a new member that just joined to get an answer for an issue that they are going to act like children when we give them some fun razzing. Karen is right.

THANKS everyone else for the constructive input!

Yep, I drove right into it and really effed the whole side of the truck! Stupid move on my part, what a dummy I am! Thanks @Muddinfun for pointing this out
and sharing your expertise on banging poles!

‍♂️ @Crosis clearly we disagree on the purpose of a forum and who is acting like a child.

Another thread of Karen vs the Trolls

You suck at a lot of things. I wasn't driving the other one, just trying to help out someone who needed to fix their truck. Making the world a better place, give it a try sometime. You really shouldn't make assumptions without the facts
